OPM s1 was peak because it was basically just the original webcomic with good art. then the manga became bloated and derailed right after that. basically all of s2 is manga filler (the tournament, the endless monsters, orochi, the centipedes...). if we actually stuck to the webcomic the entire garou and monster association arc would have been finished in s2-- and perhaps the original madhouse staff would have continued adapting it instead of dropping it (since people care about the original ONE story, not manga filler shit). this entire slog era of the anime (2019-2027) is the fault of the manga author who turned OPM from a more mature satirical webcomic into shonen slop for little kidsThe only thing that would save OPM would be a mob psycho 100-like adaptation of the webcomic
