>>217397937The fact that it was a simple story about three friends who just wanted to start a business. That's what Ghostbusters was all about, just trying to make it in the world. There was nothing else to it, really, just seeing these friends interact. That was it. And then, oh, cool, ghost shenanigans ensues, and they try to get through it as best they can. You know, they recruit employees, they put ads in the paper, they do commercials on television, just very basic things that anybody can relate to. When did they get away from that? That they started to shove in all of this crap that no one fucking asked for? Like, let's take a look at Ghostbusters 2016. Oh, okay, fine. All right? I'll accept that they're now women. What about that felt relatable? That entire movie, what about it felt in any way like something that any person, even women audience members, could connect with? It just felt like I was watching a bad SNL sketch stretched out to a ridiculous runtime. If you wanna get back to formula, then actually follow the fucking formula. Then they wanted to do Stranger Things, but they're Ghostbusters. It's just fucking stupid. Why are they so hellbent on getting in their own way when the concept is so simple?
