No payoff or attempt to make it make sense. It's fine to be enigmatic but the show is literally just weird for its own sake and the more weird things they reveal the less it feels like it's possible this world exists.
Also, making it up as they go. It's clear they are. They needed Mark to be able to rebuild his wife through his knowledge of her he can see in blobs of code but they wait for him to apply for a job and then hire him when they could just kidnap him, when they could just keep on the severed floor forever.
Anyway, Helly walks like a fucking monster/ape.
