Do Americans really care this much about college? Was skateboarding really that big in the 2000s?Why did this movie feel like an extended episode of a TV show?
>>217400382there’s a subtle acronym with that university name. Few here will get it
>>217400382Remember the boomers basically saw their upper class peers go to college, learn about computers/finance, then go on to lives of luxury and leisure in the 1980s and 90s. The middle and lower class boomers basically assumed that the key was just going to college so when their kids got older they made a huge stink about the importance of college. Of course that all turned out to be a scam and only like 10% of the population should even think about pursuing a 4 year degree. But how could the boomers have known then?
Imagine if there were some kind of engine database you could have started looking through to find the answers to your dull, vapid questions.
>>217400479The best way is to just go college abroad like the Philippines. Cheaper.
>>217400526Blud wants to pursue lower studies
>>217400479no it was really a pathway to a lucrative careergreedy boomers didn't want competition so they paywalled every younger generation that came afterwardsthen decided making them unattainable without loans will be a great idea to perpetually enslave their progeny
>>217400411Very few people can spell these days
>Why did this movie feel like an extended episode of a TV show?justin long is not a movie star. i'm not sure why he was pushed so hard.
>>217400411SHIOT?
>>217400382God, I remember watching this movie soon after it came out, and even then I completely disagreed with the >college should just be fun and do whatever you want manmessage they tried to push towards the end. Apparently I was one of the few, since tons in my generation still have debt for their feminist literature studies degree.
College has become extremely devalued because you seem to require a degree for everything except the lowest skill wagie job.Boomers offload the training they used to get on the job to colleges, and rake in huge money from student loans. It's a massive scam, especially right now when all the classes you can possibly get in college is freely available online.
