Some people I work with say that providing liquidity and efficiency to markets is valuable, but I dont think that makes it a net positive. My only cope is that I genuinely believe that most top level big tech companies like meta, google and palantir are genuinely doing more harm to society than a hedge fund is. So its better than that.
