Every single James Bond film just got added to Netflix and I'm gonna have a marathon over the next few days and weeks. In honor of this let's get a James Bond thread where we discuss and rank the actors that played him and the films
>let's make a blaxploitation-inspired Bond film - pimps, voodoo, jive-talking, heavily black cast>and have the theme song done by... Paul McCartneyWhose bright idea was this?
>>217405999You had to be there
>>217406083Fuck off
>>217406768Post list bitch
>>217406807Lol nah
>>217405862I watched Thunderball exactly one time, a million years ago, but I remember I really enjoyed itThat will be my first that I watch
This is my Bond ranking. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Connery > Dalton > Brosnan > Craig > Lazenby > MooreSorry, I like Moore, but his films were just too cheesy and campy.
>Best bonds1.Connery2.Dalton3.Brosnan4.Moore5.Lazenby6.Craig>Best filmsThe Spy Who Loved meGoldenEyeThe Living DaylightsOHMSSFrom Russia With love>Best theme songsNobody Does It BetterLive and Let dieDiamonds Are ForeverThunderballTomorrow Never Dies
>>217407680I find these lists agreeable
>>217405999Every mountain is still white at the top
>>217407621cool blurry pic for ants
>>217405862I had Netflix and in like 2019 or so they did thatgot me into the series after only seeing Goldeneye, TND, and TWINE as a kidI didn't go in order, and if I can suggest one funny thing to do, it's watch The Man With The Golden Gun before you watch Live And Let DieI won't spoil it but something seems very odd if you watch them in that orderlongtime Bond fans know what I'm talking about
>>217406083>>217407621some of these move up or down a a place, but this is generally how I always feel
>>217407754better
>>217407776>TNDmy brain immediately thought of something else
>>217407942thunderball that low is a crime
>>217407956too much swimming
>>217405862>WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG, AND YOUR HEART WAS AN OPEN BOOK....
>>217405999Live and Let Die was kino.
i am going to rewatch quantum of solace since i have only ever seen it one timei think it was unfairly judged
Oh cool I've been looking for an excuse to watch the Moore films. I suspect they are secretly the best ones and Craigdrones have been bad mouthing him to prop their guy up.
>>217407680>Nobody Does it BetterSuch an effective theme for a song that's just a girl fawning over Bond
>>217408077Moore is so charming in a goofy gentleman way that he makes all his movies at least bearable
>>217408077>been looking for an excuse to watch the Moore films.Connery will always be the best Bond because he was the first. Moore was the most charismatic Bond to follow in his footsteps.
>>217408136This.
>>217405999The song is kino, and yhere's a reggae part in it and it's the weakest portin, unsurprisingly.
the only actor i haven't seen at least one film from is lazenbyi'll finally give his a shot and see how it is
>>217408355He only had one film
>>217405862Russian bitches best bitches
>>217408366i know but i haven't seen it yet. i've always heard it was good though and people wish he had more
>>217408389was she actually russian or a british rose doing a russian accent?
>>217408413italian actress dubbed by a british woman doing a russian accent
>>217408413Italian dubbed by a brit.
Licence to Kill is better than Living Daylights
>>217407621I'm glad you like Diamonds Are Forever. That one gets shat on a lot. I think it's fun.
>>217408612Which was the one people thought was too dark and basically killed the franchise until they brought it back with Brosnan?
>>217408576>>217408580Grim
>>217405862Even the OG casino royale?
>>217408672Just about all the non-British/American actors had their lines dubbed over during the Connery era.
>>217408739nope, that one isn't under eon and neither is never say never again so they're not available
>>217408767i didn't know this. interesting
>>217407842Tomorrow Never Dies the best Brosnan? 2 senile Moores in the top 5? Maverick list
>>217407842bait image
>>217408389I loved James Bond movies as a kid, my whole family did. Grandpa introduced me and my cousin to them at a young age. From Russia With Love is probably my favorite.I had a huge crush on this Moldovan girl I met in the fifth grade because of this movie. She looks almost exactly like Tatiana actually. We dated on and off all through school. She and I are celebrating our 10th anniversery this year. She still doesn't know about my James Bond kink, and how I always pretend I'm him when we're intimate.
>>217408966Very nice brother
>>217405862Best Bond is Moore, best Bond movie is Octopussy
>>217410006based off that picture alone i can tell this is NOT a serious film
>>217410006This cheeky post; and I like it. Moore is my favourite Bond, too; though my fave film is TSWLM.Octopussy was the 1st Bond picture I saw as a kid, so I have a lot of affection for it -- even though it gets a lot of flack on here.
Had a Bond playlist I listened to while driving to work when I was stationed in the UK. Always liked OHMSS' theme for gunning down B roads.Still think From Russia With Love is up there for the best but I think its partly my train autism speaking.
>>217411833Casino Royale is trash
>>217411833From Russia With Love is always in the top tier, anon. Even if it's not someone's favorite, it's undeniably in discussion as the best of the franchise.
>>217408136I like Moore's films the best because of that. They all just feel like campy comedy.
>>217405862you mean you don't own stuff like the bond movies on phsical media already?wowwho the fuck gives netflix money
>>217412325I loves moores movies the spy who loved me and you only live twice are my two favorite bond movies
>>217411833that's b8 right, your taste can't actually be that bad?
>>217406083Based
>>217411857>>217412170>>217412636Contrarians
>>217407956Thunderball either speaks to you or it doesn'tIf you're just tallying up how much goodness is in the film on a scene by scene basis, it doesn't score that high.but it doesn't do anything outright bad that mars the experiencethe common complaints are things that make it less good than other Bonds, but nothing like you'd see in DAD or SpectreI have a theory that Thunderball vs. You Only Live Twice is a litmus test for how you watch Bond. I'm on the YOLT side.I've heard that Connery did a bad performance in YOLT but I can't see what they see. YOLT is near the top for me.I've heard that Connery was especially good in Thunderball, but it didn't stick out to me. Thunderball is in the bottom half of Bonds for me.And my theory is that I'm an autist who isn't sensitive to the actors' performances and only care about the movie they put around the actor. And the people on the Thunderball side are keenly aware of what Bond is like in the movie and consider everything around that of secondary importance.
>>217413082You sound kind of autistic
>>217413668I try to mitigate it by listening to what people say and understanding where they're coming frombut it's still in a "noticing how many tiles are in the ceiling" quantitative sort of way
>>217406083this is objectively the best tier list, I would put The World is Not Enough in Good Tier because I love Brosnan, but otherwise I completely agree. Fuck Craig.
>>217406083I'd swap Living Daylights with License To Kill, and put OHMSS up in Great Tier. Quantum would probably go in Mid Tier at best, Bad at worst due to editing. You did a great job with your list, anon.
