pretty much all european films are funded by the government
and the funny thing is that's not enough for the europoor directors nowadays so you have a swedish movie getting funded by french, german, italian governments.
I laugh at the fucking Foreign Language Film nominees at the oscars. Like how Emilia Perez was a "french film". A movie about spics in america is a "french film"
