Ok I just watched the cartoon you linked. Its very strange to me that you complain about OP's cartoon trying to be clever instead of smart, when the one you linked is 10x worse in that regard. The art and animation is cool, but I didn't laugh once at this.

He was the most talented artist of Termite Terrace I'd say.
Sure, Tex Avery was insanely creative, but Clampett understood facial expressions (often with lots of teeth grinding) and funny, expressive images. That's why his work lasted the longest.
Big Chungus? Clampett.
Bugs saying 'no.'? Clampett.
Zoot suit Daffy? Clampett.
>>217407664? Clampett.
He defined the Looney Tunes.
This is what makes it especially egregious that Jones tried to write him out history and promoted himself as the creator of the Looney Tunes, like Stan Lee claiming he single-handedly created the Marvel universe.
Look at how ugly Jones shit was in the 1980s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TmIpLAhkFY
It's as fucked up as his boring and weird-looking Tom & Jerry cartoons.
And then keep in mind that he made the Looney Tunes look like that since the 1950s.
The people who made 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' loved cartoons and loved Clampett, but they had to make fake designs based on Jones's ugly model sheets just to keep Warner off their back.

Clampett did so many classics it's hard to choose, as a kid I always loved Great Piggy Bank Robbery, The Old Grey Hare, Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid, and Draftee Daffy.
But if I had to pick just one I'd go for Book Revue:

There's also the fact that Jones turned Daffy from a screwball character when he was done by Clampett to the one we know today: petty, selfish, jealous, etc. Daffy was always better when he was a crazy old duck that bothered Porky, not when he was Bugs' always unlucky foil. Jones was great on some points, but definitely bad on others. Clampett and Avery were some of the best, although let's not forget Friz Freleng (love his classical music cartoons) and Art Davis.
As for my favs, I'd go with Avery's Who Killed Who and what >>217407732 said, I fucking love Giovanni Jones.

>In the cartoon, Daffy Duck is tormented by an unseen and mischievous animator, who constantly changes Daffy's locations, clothing, voice, physical appearance and even shape, much to Daffy's aggravation, embarrassment and finally rage. Pandemonium reigns throughout the cartoon as Daffy attempts to steer the action back to some kind of normality, only for the animator to either ignore him or, more frequently, to over-literally interpret his increasingly frantic demands. In the end, the tormenting animator is revealed to be Bugs Bunny.

>I don't/he doesn't give three fucks about four fucks
self explanatory

I'm putting myself on the spot and forgetting stuff that generally comes out naturally. I'm sure I know more. I'll post if/as I remember them. Also throw in "plum full/plum empty" is a good'n.

>any other thoughts on the 'tunes you'd like to share?
I do better with closed questions but some shorter thoughts/trivia people might like to know
>comparing 'Tortoise Beats Hare' and 'Tortoise Wins by a Hare' is the best way to see the difference between what Avery and Clampett find funny
>Jones was incredibly jealous that Frank Tashlin got to make "real" movies
>Tashlin and Jones fell out when Jones adapted Tashlin's children's book (The Bear That Wasn't) and gave the bear a cigarette, completely fucking up the point of the story
>old animated shorts are 7 minutes because the studio wanted them to be made a short and as cheap as possible (that's why they often start with a long panning shot or freeze on a sign/letter - nu cartoon shorts don't use this trick)
>a lot of the 1930s ones (like >>217406460) were made to sell records and sheet music, they were basically the music videos of their day
>it's hard to do a good Daffy Duck impression because in the cartoons Mel Blanc's voice was sped up, if you slow a Daffy Duck cartoon by 20-25% you'll hear how Blanc sounded IRL
>Porky Pig's original VA had a terrible stutter, which is why he was replaced by Blanc (who kept the stutter because it was funny)
>Rhapsody Rabbit absolutely ripped off The Cat Concerto because you never see Bugs being tormented by a mouse before or after that

classic Looney Tunes aired until almost the 2000s and before the internet became mainstream people had regional ways of speaking. This was only about 30 years ago, you are probably staring down 30 and all you have to show for it is being proud of being a little faggot. I'm so glad I was born before the internet. You're probably younger than this website so you don't get it. I'm "only" 34, I've been using 4chan for more than half of my life lol. But when I started posting on this website I had a landline telephone, it was tied to the internet and my internet was 56kbps. It took like two hours to download one shitty MP3. Full images took 2-4 full minutes to load, jpgs I mean. I genuinely can't believe I'm saying this stuff and sounding like my old relatives talking about rotary phones, but my childhood was more similar to those old people than it was to you guys now.

I guess I kind of proved your point, but it's weird that's it's like this to me. I could grasp what my great grandparents lives were like, I don't think late zoomers or alphoomies can.
