it's shitty writing for a man of his age and experience to be such an excessively angry, rude, abrasive asshole edgelord. He's not behaving like a guy over 200 years old but a man 2-3 years after the bombs dropped, so still middle aged and angry as fuck and on a warpath. A man as old and experienced as the Ghoul being such a rude petulant prick and not having the sense to use the carrot, rather than the stick, with a person like Lucy makes him look less badass and smart. And Goggins leaning into Clint Eastwood as The Ghoul With No Name would actually be more novel for him because we have seen Goggins play abrasive assholes all throughout his career
