w-what did they mean by this?

This is my local. Anything worth seeing?

Threads like this don't work because this board only cares about popular slop and, unlike /mu/ and /lit/, doesn't care about anything interesting or culturally significant.

>Big Trouble/Vanishing Point double feature
Kino.
>Rocky Horror
Avoid this at all costs, knowing where the Astor is I can only imagine the crowd would be utterly insufferable for it.
I'm half tempted to get some friends together for the LOTR marathon.

TRVKE.
See the "people" who argue over box office numbers consistently, like it's any indicator of quality. There's decent threads but the average tvtard is fucked. Too accessible, maybe, compared to lit. We need a way to purge casuals.

>big trouble in little china followed by vanishing point
A bit too on-the-nose, honestly. I despise "meta" references like that.

Bet. I reckon the Big Lebowski would be pretty insufferable too. The cosplayers who turn out for the westerns are pretty chill

One long film at the Astor is tough enough with those hard ass seats I can't imagine sitting through a triple feature

I imagine they'd have intermissions but you make a good point, it's been a long while since I've been there and I forgot what that shit was like.
I remember I was going to go to an Alien/Starship Troopers showing a few years back but they cancelled the second movie because it was in the middle of the covid panic and everyone decided to go into lockdown (again) only a few hours before it was due to start. Couldn't even get a refund because they pulled some "oh well we're still showing the first movie so it's not like we're not giving you what you paid for lol" bullshit.

I inherited like 100 acres of rural land and have a dream of opening a drive-in theater.

I saw a screening of an iron and wine concert movie there a few years ago, afterwards sam came out and played a few songs. seats were very uncomfortable but I was in the front row so it was pretty cool I guess.

>>217416624
My recommendation is if you can afford it you should go to every single one of these showings, damn

If only there was enough time. Their schedule is consistently great

Where is this where they have so much taste?
