>>217418268Watching Lexx again as an adult recently, since my last viewing as a teenager 20 years ago, I was really surprised how much less I enjoyed it. It's honestly incredible how boring it is, especially with the amount of filler repeat shots there are. You expect a show like this with its bold art direction, insane plot, and sexual nature to have some pep in its step but god damn does it drag its feet. The soundtrack certainly doesn't help either. With hindsight, I think this is one of those media productions that survives almost entirely on its premise and ideas, and not from anything in the actual execution of them. It's a real shame, because this same exact material in the hands of someone competent could have easily made a show that would be well-known even today. There really is nothing like it content-wise.

I find you have to watch Farscape before Lexx. After Lexx, Farscape feels too safe.

I can understand not liking Lexx now but in the 90s and early 2000s Lexx and Farscape was top notch rare treat for scifi nerds. Same for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel for pop horror fans.Xena too. And X-files.
