Then the shows end and that emptiness returns. So they binge some more and binge some more and binge some more and binge some more. They literally watch these shows the same way that some weaboos play JRPGs. They feel that these people are actually their friends, which is why they feel betrayed when certain plot points don't go where they want them to or when the series don't end in the way that they want them to.
