This has aged far worse than I even imagined.

The misogyny is disturbing
>>
>anon finds a mirror

There are some legitimate criticisms in it and some impotent seething. It's entertaining and gets its point across, anyone seething at what's basically a fucking Nostalgia Critic bit is a colossal fucking faggot.

Kill yourself.
>>
Most of them have for some reason
>>
Making a joke out of SA? Yikes, that did NOT age well. That is just creepy and gross. I can't imagine this was ok even back then.

>Sequeltrannies trying to pretend RLM aren't woke sloptubers

Mike literally made a video to show he's allied with "the message".
>>
>>217421610
The 90s were weird
>>
>>217421531
I used to think these were simply meant to be comedic and not taken as genuine criticism, but then Mike kept repeating those criticisms out of character.
Harrowing stuff.
>>
They weren't serious critiques, it was nothing more than pathetic whining from a seething manbaby trying to justify himself.
>>
>>217421636
>pretend RLM aren't woke sloptubers
RLM's last video about Deep Space Nine, Rich made a huge ruckus over Bashir, saying that Bashir in season 1 was a sexual harasser in the workplace and should have been fired. He just can't help himself.

he's right though, it's obvious they wanted early bashir to be some sort of slick ladies man like riker because lazy writers try to put a slightly different version of the same characters in every show, but he always just came off as a creep.

that's not 'woke' it's just shit writing that was wrong for the character.
>>
>>217422599
They make him come across as an immature and arrogant dipshit in obviously intentional ways a lot though. They probably wanted him to be charming despite that but they were trying something a little difficult.
>>
>>217422599
>it's obvious they wanted early bashir to be some sort of slick ladies man like riker
That's four naan.
>>
Season 1 Bashir was a cringe lord. But he was also flirting with a being that was hundreds of years older than him. Pretty sure she could handle herself. All of this white knighting is pathetic.
>>
>>217422755
it's a reasonable number of naan for the average person.

He's exaggerating for comedic effect and fun. You're autistic and take everything as serious.

I recently rewatched them and I can say they are definitely as funny as I remember. Mike is legit hilarious and the writing of the review is still second to none. Tons of quotables. Tons of memes. It is hilarious.
However, I will say that some of the criticism is confusing. Does Mike ACTUALLY not understand the plot? Or is he just making fun of it for being convoluted for Star Wars standards? Because the story is really, really simple and Mike acts like George Lucas was having a stroke while writing it. It all makes sense, they're just not very good films.

Still though, I like the reviews. I do agree that there are a lot of people who just repeat them without even having seen the prequels.

Rich isn't right though. Nobody saw that as sexual harassment. Nobody writing it and nobody in the audience. It was and is, simply heterosexual flirtation. But in modern times a small contingent of weirdos like Rich have to declare its a whole evil and problematic thing, to virtue signal as a pathetic emasculated dimwit, which is super-cringe and annoying to everyone else. People watch Deep Space Nine to get away from this modern horseshit, and Rich decides its a good time to get on his woke high-horse. He's a fool and a bitch.
>>
>>217421531
Prequels are bad, no matter how nostalgic you are for them...they were bad movies.
>>
>>217421531
Did you spend hours rewatching them?
>>
>>217422493
>Huge Ruckus
No he didn't lol. He was making a joke about Bashir.
I kind of agree with him and kind of don't. I do think it would be weird if in your workplace you had one creepy guy who was CONSTANTLY trying to go out with women and CONSTANTLY getting turned down. The would be fired pretty quickly.
However, I also agree that I think it isn't fair to judge Bashir like that when the writers did it on purpose and he literally changes as the show goes on. Kind of like complaining Vegeta is kind of an asshole at the start.

Can’t believe extended YouTube sketches from nearly two decades ago that have been memed to death are showing their age
>>
>>217421531
It aged like fine wine. Still as funny as it was back then and like 90% correct. Prequels are shit. Sequels are shit. OT are well crafted movies for children/families.

You're a liar and I'm gonna prove you wrong right this minute, whore. At this timestamp, Mike opens up with "Bashir is sexually harassing Dax" then Rich follows that up, without one ounce of sarcasm or irony, "Yeah that's the one uncomfortable thing I don't like about Bashir in season 1." Rich states this in a completely serious tone.

>Does Mike ACTUALLY not understand the plot?
He commits to the narrative that the prequels are 100% catastrophic in every way, and to see it through he sometimes has to exaggerate. He says the space battle that opens Episode III is too busy, too confusing, and impossible to follow. No one really has that response to the scene. The camera tracks the two Jedi starfighters and makes them the obvious focal point of the action. Mike pretends otherwise because this is one of the scenes that people are willing to defend, and his polemical position requires that he tear that defence down by any means necessary – with mental gymnastics and outright lies if need be.
>>
>>217423017
Kids loved the prequels though and for all their perceived flaws still left a healthy appetite for the series. The sequels were a car crash of corporate cash grabbing and killed it completely.
>>
>>217421531
Watched it two days ago and chuckled
>>
>>217423067
I was in school at the time Phantom Menace and Clones were released and they weren’t universally beloved by kids. There are younger adults now who grew up with them and are fans but when they came out plenty of kids didn’t think they were good at all
>>
>>217423051
The space battle at the beginning of Ep III is complete nonsense because the entire concept of a "Clone War" between a clone army that whatshisface created, in secret, lol, against an army.... robots? Is complete nonsense
Just the because the camera stays focused on plot armor character 1 and plot armor character 2 doesnt mean the director is doing a good job or the screenplay makes any sense
>I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING?
You sure about that?
>>
>>217421531
The only parts that aged poorly are the criticisms that were wrong from the start. What Mike was right about he only became more right about in retrospect.

Mike's only sin was being so anti-lucas that he refused to make actual plinkett reviews of the sequels. I feel like part of it was his heart was not in it, and part of it was pride not wanting to admit the sequels were worse.
>>
>>217423067
You know they are stipp making star wars shit, right?
>>
>>217423048
He's clearly mocking Mike for being such a fag, and Mike is too high on his own farts(like you clearly are) to get it.
>>
>>217421531
Its aged fine. There were just higher standards for movies back then. Nobody could have predicted how terrible everything would become
>>
>>217421531
Represent This put out a multi-part series that tears apart the faulty-thinking that was exhibited in the Plinkett Prequel reviews. he's not the only one who's done so but his is a very extensive beat-down on Plinkett's propaganda.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMInPMDX2EE
>>
>>217423106
Mike's complaint was that he couldn't follow the physical action of the scene. That it was confusing visually.
>>
>>217423121
Nope. He's being serious. I just proved it now shut the fuck up bitch.
>>
>>217423051
Space battles where you can't actually tell what tactics are being used and it just looks like a shit storm are not entertaining.
>>
>>217421531
Nope, just watched them a couple months ago to see for myself. It is you that aged poorly, OP.
>>
>>217423190
They're using dog-fighting tactics... what's hard to understand? There's a lot going on the opening battle yes, lots of details, lots of motion, and it can be easily argued that the fact there was so much going on in that sequence, means that there's a very high replayability factor. People who find it entertaining in the 1st place, will revisit the scene over n over and find new things to notice. Plinkett says this is the mark of a hack-fraud director lmao.
>>
>>217422599
Bashir was gay, and his womaniser bit was a smoke-screen, tbf. That's why he never actually gets with any women, and spends all of his free time with Miles and Garak.
>>
>>217423300
If that was what they actually did it would have been cool, but that isn't want they did, never what they intended, never what they wrote, and only in retrospect have people tried to graft some kind of relationship between him and Garak. In reality, it just feels like Garak and Bashir were put together in scenes just to give the actors something to do. I don't know if Bashir was always written to be a secret genius, but once it is revealed that he is THEN the Garak/Bashir relationship makes total sense because both of them are people who are in hiding, not living up to their potential, have secrets, etc.
>>
>>217423119
They don't have a choice they have spent billions buying the IP and billions more on their own productions, but none of what they have made since can be considered a commercial success. They are just digging themselves deeper.

>>217423263
"Dog fighting" isnt tactics kiddo. Come back when you've read a single book on military tactics. I've only read 2 but it's still more than you have.
>>
>>217421531
the plinkett reviews are just garbage, i hate the stupid fucking plinkett voice its so grating slow and annoying. There is a reason RLM Ddoesnt make plinkett videos anymore, they suck.
Also obviously the prequels are bad movies or whatever but they are entertaining for the most part. In a post disney sequels world the prequels have soul, and all of the expanded universe stuff that surrounds the prequels is the most interesting star wars stuff that exists (mostly the videogames)
>>
The guy behind Plinkett is obviously a fat idiot. I sincerely hope for his sake he's realised how embarrassing it is for a grown man to spend many hours of his life publicly whining about kid's action movies and is thoroughly ashamed of himself in hindsight.

$20,000 a month is $240,000 a year. At that rate, it would take about 4.17 years (roughly 4 years and 2 months) to reach $1 million, assuming no taxes or interest.
