>>217422550Unironically that crone was right about Ross still wanting to creampie Rachel though
>>217422450Duh.
There was a script where Rachel is looking for a place to live and instead of moving in with Phoebe, takes Gunther up on his offer of being roommates. Neither actor liked the storyline, so they changed the script to her turning him down once he reveals it's a one bedroom apartment. What's interesting is that Gunther had already been shown to have a roommate, Jasmine, who was a co-worker of Phoebe's at the massage parlor. It's possible he lived in a large apartment with Jasmine and had moved or she was using the living room as her bedroom. Still, interesting that he was slatted to have a larger role on the show but felt the storyline didn't make sense so he and Jennifer Anniston pushed back on it.
>>217422889Gunther was just some random extra, why the fuck wouldn't he want a bigger role.
>>217422889>he and Jennifer Anniston pushed back on it.this feels kinda like when the ron wesley actor said he didn't like kissing the hermione girl cause she said in every interview she hated kissing him so it would be weird if he said he enjoyed it maybe jennifer said no first in he kinda had to agree with her

>>217422938Maybe >>217422949 is right and it was a cope on his part but it could also be that he wanted something that made sense so he could work his way towards being the seventh friend. It was a gamble that didn't work and he faded back into scenery again. For the producers, he could have been a wedge to reduce salaries. The six main characters had agreed to negotiate as a unit, with everyone getting the same salary even if certain characters had more fan appeal. Slowly replace Chandler with Gunther and during the next contract negotiations, cut the Chandler character entirely. At that point, everyone is scared for their job and for the show, making negotiations easier. That 'Friends' was making so much money meant trying to do this would be risking too much. The producers hated how much they had to pay the main cast, but given how much the show was making, they got over it. If ratings had started to get bad, they might have used the Gunther Bomb to reset salaries.
