When they had God with them they won every battle against the Philistines (no relation) but only started losing everything when they stopped listening to & obeying God. Luckily they learned their lesson from this, deciding they should never ever try to trick God again. So they got their land back, they got to rule it, it was defended against all outsiders, & their temple stayed in one piece with nothing bad happening.
