>picard s3 was warmly received
>very fucking far from perfect but given how badly ST fans have been treated it did get a warm reception
>set up a followup
>there is no followup
>but new Trek show is a continuation of Discovery
What the FUCK is going on? Also, can someone tell me if the idea behind The Burn pisses them off? I don't mean in some ackchyually hang wringing sense over the reason behind it being lame, I mean the idea period of reducing the Feds and Earth damn near back to square one. I hate that. Do the people in the 32nd century even know who the fuck Kirk, Spock, Picard, etc. even are or is all institutional and cultural memory gone?

they did?
the great thing about picard S3 was that it reset everything that happened to the TNG crew after "all good things".
>>
It was fun, but wall to wall 'member berries like Alien Romulus.

I wouldnt piss on star trek if it was on fire.

Yes Picard's son, 7 of 9, etc. are the new Enterprise crew and Q returns at the end to fuck with the son (Jack IIRC is the name). What >>217423334 said is correct, but it got received nicely within the context of nu-Trek. But no followup, only Discovery sequel wank with a dyke and an obese Jem'Hadar woman
>>
Star Dreck was, quite literally, NEVER good.

TNG was always my favorite, I thought Kirk was cool but TOS was too slow, bookish and sooo 1967 trippy. But in hindsight, rewatching these, TNG is only occasionally as good as I remember it being, while TOS is exactly as good as I remember TNG being. Weird.

You've realized that the future tng tried to sell you is gay while the future that tos tried to sell you is based.

It was a bold idea, but the cause of it was lame as fuck.

Nothing is or ever will be better than TOS.

Picard Season 1 and Season 2 were produced by Alex Kurtzman. He's the guy responsible for Star Trek Discovery. Patrick Stewart was also heavily involved in the writing.

After Season 2, Alex Kurtzman left to focus on Discovery and SNW. So he handed control of the show over to someone else. Kurtzman also reduced the budget for Season 3.

Picard Season 3 was made by Terry Matalas. He was a writer for Star Trek Enterprise in 2003. Patrick Stewart was also kicked out the writers room for Picard.

Fans enjoyed Season 3 very much and gave positive feedback.

Alex Kurtzman was furious and bitter at fans loving Season 3. So he killed any idea of Star Trek Legacy. Instead, Alex Kurtzman pushed Section 31 and Starfleet Academy.

>Also, can someone tell me if the idea behind The Burn pisses them off?

YES. But most Trek fans gave up after Season 2.

Alex Kurtzman hated the Federation and wanted to reboot it and start over. So he blew it up and remade it. The new Starfleet is all about Diversity and Feminism.

Ah so basically same shit as Todd Howard and Emil seething at New Vegas. What is with these stewards of beloved franchises being such petty selfish spiteful manchildren? If ST were headed by a half way decent adult, they would have felt humbled after Picard s3 and sought to learn from that rather than throwing their dollies out of the pram in a rage
>>
picard is cool because he's your dad moralizing while occasionally doing a trafalgar
