I actually got around to playing the second game.>The girls only go to Seattle because Tommy went for revenge, not the other way around like the show.The first game was meant to have a revenge driven plot too in part until Neil's writing partner, who was absent for 2, said it was dumb to travel halfway across the country in post apocalypse for revenge.Joel's death didn't phase me, revenge plot was fine I guess. Abby's story recontextualising things that happened to Ellie was fine I guess. Maybe it was "fine I guess" because these things had been spoiled for me? I digress. But then Abby's story goes all in on saving a kid from the Scars who is trans. If travelling across the country for revenge plot is dumb and unrealistic, then that Scars stuff was just fucking awful.They fight in the theatre Abby is going to kill Dina, Ellie mentions she is pregnant, she stops, she leaves. Okay, if the game had ended there, fine 7/10, dumb shit but okay, revenge bad. Then we get what feels like an epilogue of Dina and Ellie. But then you have a section in California hunting Abby some more only to end in a retarded fight so Ellie could lose some fingers so she can't finger Dina or play guitar anymore. I don't know why but that whole California shit made it drop even more. Neil can't let things go, the themes are there, just stop, it wasn't needed.
