ITT Shit only you watched
>>217433351
>>217433351snes game is solid
Don't bother it gets cancelled on a cliffhanger.
Did no one else watch this or do we just not discuss it because it's good?
>War of the Worlds is a science fiction television series that ran for two seasons, from October 7, 1988 to May 14, 1990.
>>217433351Was it good? I remember seeing the Phantom comic strip long ago in the Sunday paper but never got into it.
>>217433564It's actually pretty good. Has fuck all the to do with the Phantom outside of the costume, the lineage, and the environmental themes
>>217433518My gf made me watch this, kino.
>>217433351so is he some old comic character that's out of copyright
>>217433683The Phantom is a superhero from the 30s.He crashed on an African nation and survived and took up an oath that is passed down to each member of his family. He's not in PD yet, he also had a movie with the bald dude from Titanic who's name escapes me at the moment.
>>217433707huhI remember him from a cartoon where he and flash gordon were on a knockoff of the avengers
>>217433752That's Defenders of the Earth. He's was also in that. Phantom, Flash Gordon, and Mandrake the Magician are Kings Features Syndicate heroes and they put them in a team together to try make them popular. That's from the late 80s and this was from 1994.Defenders of the Earth is mostly meh, but 2040 is actually pretty good. It's slow and not really some a kid would care about, but the themes and story are good.
>>217433780This was after Burton's Batman came out and pretty much anyone from that era who had the rights to a superhero went digging in their library to see what they had.
>>217433707thanks grok
>>217433608I fuckin loved this showSYNCHRONIZE SWATCHES!
>>217433479In my top 10 for sure.
>>217433351Pure favela kino. Left me angry and disgusted after watching.
>>217433630It's also like 1:1 faithful to the books. The author was heavily involved but you probably know that since he does a little Q&A after every episode.>>217434003This is one of those movies that doesn't really do anything groundbreaking but it's just very competently made with great actors and a good story. I liken it to The Fugitive where it isn't going to change your life or give you much to think about but you're going to be thoroughly entertained from start to finish every time you watch it.
>>217433442Came here to post this. Love this movie. It captures the spirit of Philip K. Dick's later period of writing.
>>217433442>5.6I love PKD so I'll give it a chance
