This was kino.

I'm trans and it was shit

It felt artsy to me but I really liked the cinematography and the main leads.
>>
>>217439956
the guy talks like an obnoxious retard and the plot is 2 hours of boredom. also it's baby's first lynchian surrealism. tries way too hard to be unsettling.
>>
>>217439824
It was too real.
>>
>>217439824
Shit movie for shittier people
>>
>>217439824
Beautifully shot film, really felt the wistful, somber vibes as well as the surreal sequences in thr second half.
I did not like the ending at all.
The theme of being at a turning point in your life and deciding to walk away from happiness and instead settle for comfort is something anyone can relate to.
But, yeah, again, I just hate the way the film ended.

Don't say you love the anime if you haven't read the manga.
>>

You're the retard. You see a very well made coming of age film with surrealist trappings and an engaging philosophical theme and decide it must be bad because the plot wasn't elaborate.
It's less a story about friends and more about killing away a potential self to become a more socially acceptable self instead.
You really have to be a sociopath not to find the film engaging on that level alone. It's well shot and edited, so it's not slop either. There's worse "try-hard lynch" slop out there.

Why not? I think it was implying that he still had a chance.

I disliked the ending only because I just dislike "abrupt" endings. I like all the ends tied. Its just me.
At first I thought the ending was bleak, but I've realized as you have that it signaled not death but a paradigm shift, he was finally saying out loud what he felt inside, and the process is terrifying but ultimately freeing.
I just think the film ended a beat too early.
>>
I really like the ending but movie overall was weak, also that black guy playing a child was retarded
>>
>>217440594
I'm pretty sure Owen was retarded, or at the very least an aspergers/high functioning.
Unless you mean the casting, which might have been a budgetary decision.
I think the film was strong only because the score/soundtrack really backed up the visuals. All the PinkOpaque stuff just got me nostalgic so maybe I'm just biased.

You seem like you know sociopaths well
>>

Are you the tranny that made this? Nice going, good for you bro
>>
I really dug the whole square/rectangle thing

Y'know, all trannies are mentally ill, but not all mentally ill people are trannies
Because it's the other half of it that was more interesting to me
The idea that it never got any better than watching some shitty 90s show with your sole friend who only hangs out with you because they're as much of a weirdo fucking loser as you are
That as the high water mark in a life, those were somebody's good old days

I felt it like a knife, and I see why RLM did, too

I Saw the Tv Glow was pretty straightforward. I still have no idea wtf World's Fair was about tho.
>>
>>217440867
My favourite thing about the movie was that sense of nostalgia for staying up late to watch a TV show like Buffy back when you were a kid, it evoked that mood really well.
>>
>>217439824
Unironically what was the message? Got big pro-suicide vibes from this flick.
>>
>>217441381
live life on your own terms before it's too late
>>
>>217439824
The music was nice.

Coming-out can feel like dying but living in pretense is worse than death I guess.

Cut your dick off.

I had a Maddy growing up. She's now married to chad and I'm still working at Chuck E Cheese.

It's barely a shitpost to say the most straightforward interpretation of the movie is pic related
Which is okay because it's a movie about crazy people, written and directed by a crazy person.
>>
>>217439824
Tranny redditor slop.
>>
>>217441381
Don't ever (and I mean never) let some goofy super villain trap you and your best friend in a reality simulation.
>>
>>217441809
The movie is essentially one big cry for help but not in the way the Director was trying to achieve
