do you agree with coppola?
>>217443613I wouldn't say Batman and Star Wars are normal movies. They're genre movies.
>>217443623>Megalopolis is a 2024 American epic science fiction drama film
>>217443613I would watch it if there wasn't this monster in the lead role
>>217443613this sucked but it was at least more interesting than the millionth capeshit or space girlboss slop
>>217443613Megalopolis is capeshit tier
I think Batman has been done to death. SW however if you didn't include the books (over half of which are crap) didn't get much until Disney; and that was shit from the getgo. It would be nice to see some new worlds/universes; ones started by passionate individuals outside the rotten industry.
I always thought any movie should either be wholly original or really well made
>>217443613no, i don't watch enough movies to find megalopolis interesting for being different. It's dumb and i laughed for the silly shit in it. But i don't see it as significant. I can't distinguish it from any other slop, because i don't consume a lot of movie slop to begin with, not nearly as much as him.
>>217443613Even Coppola can't resist responding to Indians
>>217443760Indians are the main (paying) consumers of film nowadays
coppola hasn't made a good movie in decades
>>217444173still better than any capeslop, zoomer
>>217443760they induce primal rage
>>217443613I do but I also want good original movies. It's not enough that it's different or I simply haven't seen it before.
>>217444373That's like comparing shit to piss. Yeah, piss is better but I'd rather not consume either of them.
>>217443613I get his point but it's not like Megalopolis is particularly original. It's a generic story produced on a grand scale with a big budget. I'd rather watch The Dark Knight.
>>217443613He's correct. The problem with (((Hollywood))) though is that people want something that is original AND good. Megalopolis sounded boring as fuck, which is why nobody wanted to pay to see it in theaters.
>>217443613He’s not wrong. I mean, this movie was weird and it sucked, but it was an interesting disaster. Compare that to the absolute formulaic equation-like blockbuster slop we get today, and I will take the weird and interesting disasters any fucking day.I genuinely wish there was a way for studios to make blockbusters solely for the American (and westerns in general) audience, but this country is about to enter another civil war, so sadly that won’t happen.
>>217444373not a zoomer, it's a fact that coppola has been creating dogshit since the 90s
>>217445494filtered, megalopolis was great
>>217444800>I genuinely wish there was a way for studios to make blockbusters solely for the American [...] audienceBut that's literally what capeslop is, anon
>>217444783Megalopolis can be described with any adjective EXCEPT boring.
>>217443613Yes, studios are too scared to invest in original movies that might flop, which means we will never see original kinos and will just have to tolerate rehashes of shitty franchises until the end of time
THREAD STOP
Just realized Adam Driver looks like Keanu ReevesKnowing Hollywood they're probably (((related)))
