First two are great

I liked the 3rd one. I hated the second one because they're just fighting humans
>>
Is this to blame for all the capeshit, or do we blame Spiderman more?

>I liked the X-Men movies
I didn't. Too much black leather. Everyone was wearing it back then The Matrix, Blade, Tom Cruise, Max Payne. God forbid they wear a leather jacket over the uniform like Cyclops and Rogue do.
>>
>>217450702
They should've kept those black leather suits.

X-Men 1 definitely made superheroes more respectable after Batman and Robin, the same way Batman 89 made them respectable after Superman 3 and 4. The difference is that CGI was 11 years more advanced so Spider-Man could come in and hit the fun-yet-serious sweet spot audiences want out of capeshit

still would

She's bogged and would almost certainly look better without having gotten the work done.

Only good thing about it was Ellen Page desu. None of the characters even resembled the comic characters

Perhaps you haven't seen them all, but Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants are also bottom of the barrel stinkers.

Hot teachers were always flirting with students but would punish the ones they didnt like if they were untoward.

I hate the lack of super villains and then the one time Bryan Singer tries to do Apocolypse hes a literal CW tier rubber suit guy cus he refuses to do anything comic accurate even when it would be badass he thinks he is gigabraining the audience
>>
>>217452643
How do Magneto (when he's being bad) and Sebastian Shaw not count as super villains?
>>
>>217452719
They are normal looking people I am talking about high concept characters with visually interesting appearances and powers that arent just "wave hand and cgi happens" or "focus my glare really hard and stuff happens" which is like 90% of the powers in these movies. People like wolverine for instance because he is not that he physically does something with a cool visual. I thought this was clear by using Apocalypse as an example but I can see the room for ambiguity really upset you. I hope that clears things up since you seem so confused let me know if you need more help.

Raimi's Spider Man is the harbinger of capeshit. Everyone involved with X-Men was embarrassed by everything about super heroes, which is why they changed everything from the costume design to the relationships and hyper focused on the racism allegory instead of making the films typical capeshit where the hero has to learn how to punch the villain harder.

Raimi's Spiderman was shameless fan service and true to the source material and was a brainless capeshit story for all films. For being a gay pedo Singer at least had enough maturity to be ashamed of the source material and turn it into something better (until it went full capeshit with 3).
>>
>>217452939
Id say the focus on racis/homosexuality is equal and its probably because Singer is a massive irl faggot who loves young 'teen' boys. Hence he made the costumes tight leather like homo bdsm outfits.
>>
>>217453234
The outtakes where they're first wearing the suits are hilarious. They haven't been broken in so the leather is all stiff and Marsden is popping the stitches to get some motion. And they're supposed to step over a small concrete barrier, and Jackman nearly breaks his neck trying to hop it.

>Hence he made the costumes tight leather
So it had nothing to do with black leather being the trend at the time, and stuff like Matrix doing it first?
