>The big climax of the movie is....a guy just standing against the wall

At least add some inhuman screech to let us know the bel-air witch is there looking for them to eat them or something, not just them STANDING because it may be confused for a silly prank

>At least add some inhuman screech to let us know the bel-air witch is there
Back in the day, people had attention spans and could retain information. The audience could focus on the movie and put information in it together.
>>
>>217466209
Serves her right. Maybe next time, don't lose the map.

My exes cats were legitimately tuned into something I wasn't. I spent shit tons of time around them and had at least 5 "what the actual fuck" moments due to them. The best was one of them suddenly staring the top left of a room down with all its might, climbing up there, jumping away as if something hit it and then refusing to go back in the room for 4 whole days. never happened with him once before or ever again after. if you dropped him in the room and closed the door, he never stopped scratching the door. he did it for 20 minutes straight before we got worried about his nails and just let him leave. complete serenity when he wasn't in there, though. eventually, he walked in the room very slowly, looked at the corner, and then just waltzed in like everything was fine after. again, there was literally nothing there at any point. not even a small fly. you might think that's weird already, but the other cat eventually did the same thing with the same corner. lasted only around half a day this time, but it was the exact same reaction to the point. both times, one cat ignored the other as if they couldn't see anything. Had zero explanation for this beyond "yeah cats are retarded" but i think about it quite a lot desu
>>
>>217466373
Modern house cats are bred to be retards.
I wouldn't be surprised if the cat analogy to schizophrenia exists.

>>217466209
Makes zero sense. The documentary was Heather’s idea. She wasn’t lured into participating.
>>
Reminder that their footage and gear were found buried in the old foundation of the Rustin Parr house as it had burned down several years earlier. The movie is explicitly supernatural.
>>
>>217466991
Maybe in the extended fan fiction. Theres nothing about that in the movie
>>
>>217467041
Nope, official canon from Curse of the Blair Witch that was released alongside the movie by the directors.

>>217467052
Also, you idiots that try to give a rational explanation for the events of the movie always act like they were deep in Appalachia being stalked by Deliverance hillbillies. The movie takes place in rural Maryland lol
>>
>>217466209
If anything some of the background material implies she was the one who lured them in. She got obsessed by the witch and was subconsciously manipulated into bringing them as a sacrifice, along with herself. Hence the crying apology at the end.

Wasn't there a blair witch video game? Is it canon?
>>

There were several. They are about as canon as the second movie.

I always figured they had entered the other world once they disturbed the rock cairns and started seeing the stickmen hanging in the trees. There was no way they were still in the normal world at that point.
>>
>>217465533
its literally one of the best films ever made, even if by accident
>>
>>217467592
It seemed like they had it pretty well planned out as far as guiding the cast along to each location and story beat.

idk where I read it but supposedly her pot farm is doing really good business
>>217465839
>made bank off bwp
her and the others made nothing from the movie. it was a random indie project so they understandably didn't make a dreal for gross or royalties and got FUCKED. the guy in the corner said he got paid like 10x more for a day of studio funded reshoots than the entire movie
>>
>>217467637
That’s always the risk of an indie movie that blows up. The cast and crew of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre also got screwed over.
>>
The main girl won a razzie for worst acting when her acting is really flawless, same as the guys. Watching it again it's fascinating how the madness alternates between them, it's always one of them who seems to be losing it, who antagonizes the others etc and they switch up, almost as if being possessed for a time before being let go.
>>
>>217467543
I dislike ambiguous endings that don't explain anything.
Might as well skip the movie if it has no intention of explaining the plot.
>>
>>217465533

Agreed, it feels much more natural than the dialogue in Paranormal Activity for example. I know a lot of it was technically improvised, but it feels more polished and scripted.

Yes.

>>217467669
tbf the Razzies have always been a faggot event based on who they like or not like at any given time. Kind of like the Brüno segments with the fashion "critics" where they rated people "to the ghetto" or "straight to Auschwitz".
>>
>>217467616
i'm constantly baffled and butthurt that no one else has even tried to do this with a found footage film. BWP is so brilliant because the way it was made makes it feel authentic. no other found footage has even tried by comparison
>>
>>217467698
No, not everything has to be explained to death.
People like you are how we got Maleficent and Wicked and Prometheus and all that other retarded shit made for retarded retards like you.
>>
>>217465533
It’s because earlier in film they mention witch made them stand against wall as they murdered the friends
>>
>>217467789
But in this case, it was explained. Earlier in the movie they’re told about Rustin Parr who murdered seven children or something from the town decades earlier. He made one kid face the corner of the basement wall while he killed the other one.
>>
>>217467806
Ackhsually it wasn't the witch they talked about.
