This was fucking terrible. Really really shit. Couldn't even point to a good scene in the entire movie. At least with the prior one we had the opening 30 minutes of kino before it started to fall off.

I liked all 3 of the previous movies. They all had moments or periods that were very good. This on the other hand didn't. Was the Devil dance at the end supposed to be 'it'

let me guess, you watched a camrip?
>>
I enjoyed it a lot. What really surprises me, though, is that people are apparently liking this one at lot more than 28 Years, since to me, they were pretty much equal (in fact I'd even give a slight edge to the first part).
>>
>>217473237
This one at least had a proper conclusion to it's story
>>
I'm not going to watch it so give me the spoilers, what is a Bone Temple and what does it have to do with zombies? Also how are the zombies still alive after 28 years?
>>
>>217473014
No I watched in the cinema. You can get free tickets from vodafone for tuesdays, very nice.

Bone temple is obviously ralph fiennes skull thing from the first movie. Jimmy thinks hes the son of the devil and that the devil speaks to him. one of his underlings finds ralph fiennes and thinks that ralph fiennes matches the description of what jimmy says the devil (uncle nick) looks like. Jimmy meets ralph fiennes and gets him to pretend to be the devil for all of his underlings. Ralph fiennes does this until he realises one of jimmys group is spike from the first movie. Everything goes to shit and all the jimmys die except for spike and another girl, ralph fiennes dies here too. Also throughout the course of the movie ralph fiennes drugs and has a relationship with an alpha, eventually fixing him somewhat by the end of the movie so the alpha can speak. Cillian murphy is in a 2 min ending scene with his daughter.

If you liked 28 weeks later you’re actually braindead it’s a solid 2/10

there's some kind of mandatory torture porn requirement for a lot of the horror audience. you can't just end a film on character growth then a cliffhanger. you need to introduce a bunch of side-characters and kill them off so that it meets the gore quota.

I watched Weeks in anticipation of Years, it was much better than I'd remembered
>>
>>217473237
28 Years Later was a mess. Half a great film, half deleted scenes. The Bone Temple doesn't have the same highs as 28 Years later but is more consistent.

Everything with the mother didn't have the emotional impact that was anticipated, her arc and character are completely forgotten moving into this movie. Really, they could have cut the second half of years down and spliced these 2 films into one much better one.

28 Weeks later is not a 2/10. It's a decent enough movie. There was no tension in this movie at all. Where is the tension meant to be, in the scene at the dinner table, in the barn? It's a very boring movie

I went to see it a few hours ago and thought it was based. Incredibly powerful movie about friendship

good movie

It wasn't great. an entire franchise of mediocrity farmed from a single good half of a film over 2 decades ago
>>
I liked it. The ralph fiennes devil dance was fucking hilarious. The Samson thing is risky, the whole "are they still human under there/could they be saved" question is usually left unanswered for good reasons.
Most of the world of mouth I've heard has been positive but that would obviously be because anyone who didn't like the ending of 28YL is just never gonna watch this.

So is the "cure" that Kelson discovered basically like an AIDS cocktail, where infected people have to take them forever, lest they revert to ragers? Since Jim is apparently taking center stage in the third part, will Spike be pushed even further to the back of the narrative? Will Jamie/Spike's dad play a part? Will that baby born to the infected woman have any further significance? The 28 movie tend to be rather short, but it feels like they have a lot left to cover if they want the third film to be a conclusion to the whole thing.

The tagline is very Alex Garland. Mass programming disguised as sensational promo. As if gobmints didn't use "fear" in 2020+ to coerce people into worse medical, mental + financial conditions.
