Why did nobody here tell me how good this show is?What is your favorite episode?
>>217473512I watched the movie that came out before but never the show Bumping anyways Whoever made that series must be rich af
>>217473512Daniel was so hot with the longer hair, no homo.
>>217473512>/v/ constantly gushes about this old school, non pozzed sci-fi show>Literally 2 episodes in, the team converts a tribe of mongol horse lords to enlightened feminism
>>217473512My local library dropped the entire series in the free basket the other day. For me its the jack and carter freezing episode or the time loop one.
>>217473512we've been telling you the whole time you just weren't reading the threads I guessbest episode is tough, there are sooo many kino ones. some favorites off the top of my head: Children of the Gods, The Fifth Race, Serpent's Song, Maternal Instinct, A Hundred Days, Crystal Skull, Window of Opportunity, The Curse, The Serpent's Venom, Red Sky, Wormhole Xtreme, Redemption, The Other Guys, 200
>>217473512God damn Teal'c looks zesty even in S1
>>217473512"Window of Opportunity" is the best episode and also the brst tv timeloop episode of all time, although the Xena one is a strong runner up
GOOLD?
>>217473611yeah that one and the pilot of course go full retard with their feminism fuck year but that shit goes away quickly, like all great scifi shows, the first season stumbles around a bit before it finds its feet
>>217473611>he doesn't knowThe female actor on the show was pissed about it and made sure it never happens again and it doesn'tShe didn't want to be that kind of girl power character, it's extremely based
>>217473758The whole show is a metaphor about why slavery and religion are bad, and that the entire universe should embrace the liberal American way of life. It is foundationally woke. The main team has a women and a nigger. We are definitely not allowed to watch this.
>>217473788She's a women in the military. Portraying this positively or neutrally is woke.
>>217473793I don't think you understand what "metaphor" meansor "woke" for that matter
>>217473793kek the team shoots first and asks questions laterStargate is not Star Trek. They pursue military solutions to basically every problem. It's very rah-rah, very militant, very pro-imperialism in a way.Basically, you're a retard. And the black guy isn't even a black guy, he's an alien and a great 90s bro character.
>>217473512It'll never get a HD remaster but at least it's in widescreen and doesn't have the issues that the original Babylon 5 DVDs had
>>217473822>>217473824Having black, female, disabled etc. characters in prominent roles in an action show is extremely woke. Don't be blinded by nostalgia, if this came out today you would rightly call out as woke slop propaganda. We are not allowed to watch this.
>>217473862Shut the fuck up, kill yourself, and never reply to me again.
>>217473700whats dumb about this episode is that the time loop only happened for earth and a handfull of other systems, not the entire universe.so earth was effectively cut off from everyone for months (?) and it has no consequences, and astronomers around the world didnt find it odd, that the stars suddenly jerked into a new position when the time loop ended?what about blueshift from far away quasars? asteroid trajectories? we're expected to believe that thousands of professional people observing the sky every day missed the sudden shift of literally everything outside our solar system? or did they realize and decided to keep in a secret? other than that, it was kino.
>>217473874Jewish hands typed this post.
>>217473754OUTTA MY WAY GOOLD FUCKING SHITS
>>217473512There's weekly threads, almost. The First One is my favorite.I wish they added this to some streaming service. Illegal to pirate such a great show. On the other hand, I've seen it already three times. I recall when I was a kid and there was a weekly episode airing on weekdays late at night, always had to watch it and go tired to school. If I ever have children, I force them sit through all episodes.
do i need to watch this is chronological order? Or can i just go straight to some of these best recommended episodes?
>>217473922You should absolutely watch it in order. Stop being such an ADHD zoomer, jesus christ.
>>217473922You watch the movie first, then the show in chronological order
Under no circumstances go to P4C-970
>>217473512My favorite episodes are when they just go exploring, some of the earlier episodes desu.
>>217473922It would be a very impoverished experience since the story arcs are built over a long time and there are tons of callbacks to earlier episodes, it is really much more enjoyable to watch it all (even though the first ca. season and a half are a bit rough around the edges)
we literally have threads every day about how awesome sg1 is.
>>217473922>Or can i just go straight to some of these best recommended episodes? There are almost no bad episodes. No reason to skip or do a recommended watch list.
>>217473512You’ve been told how shit it is. but you’re brown so it probably seems great compared to what you usually see
>>217473927I'm 44
>>217473979It's genuinely my favorite scifi show ever. I rewatch it ever year or two, I need to wait a little longer before I do it again.
>>217473979it's like we're stuck in a time loop of some kind
>>217473793woke is critical race theory. It asserts everything anyone ever found appealing or saw a positive was actually just white supremacy, thus bad. The core idea is that civilization is automatic and a civilization founded on ugliness, dishonesty, poor hygiene, promiscuity, that celebrated diseases, murder, theft, and disrespect would not only function, but foster people who viewed these as positives.
>214 episodes>3 movies>176 other episodesWhat's the best way to watch this?Just the first movie and SG1 then the other two movies right? Are the rest worth watching or do they at least have notable episodes to tack on?
>>217474097you do this: https://www.gateworld.net/news/2009/05/stargate-recommended-viewing-order/except you avoid Stargate Origins like the plague
>>217474097>original movie>SG1>other movies>atlantisI've never actually seen SGU.
>>217474097The best way is to not watch it at all. Second best is chronological order.
>>217473811>>217473862this type of absolutist faggotry is why no one takes our complaints seriously when it's about real shit
Trump's mental change reminds me of the episode where the Russian General has a Goold
Just started the series and O'Neil has already been turned into a caveman & had his age accelerated. Kino show.
>>217473512>first episode>full frontal nudityThat was a shock, but it kept me interested. They should've tried this on Star Trek Academy.
>>217474263if you think season 1 is kino you better prepare your anus for what follows
>>217474292then they were cowards and cut the nudity out of the DVD version of the pilotI totally get how it was tonally inconsistent with the rest of the show and was only there because Showtime wanted some actual premium cable stuff, I just don't like revisionism.
>>217474132The only time women in the military isn’t a joke is when they’re held to the exact same physical, mental, and emotional standards as men.
>>217474338Probably to avoid a PG18. I'm watching the blu-ray version and the nudity is included
>>217473512Its an alright show early on, but I get sick of every other planet being shot on a set in the Pacific Northwest/Canada. Same shit with the X-Files and Highlander the series being shot in the same area.
>>217474426adulthood is appreciating that as part of the charme
>>217474394yeah it's still there in the TV version, just not the standalone "Children of the Gods" release which is the only pre-S8 SG-1 content to be in HD. it's funny on Amazon Prime how that one instance of nudity gives the entire season an 18+ rating when the rest of the show has a 13+.
>>217474454Adulthood is not needing to say everything you do is adult
>>217473754:))
>>217473754Man I hear him saying it too.
Don't listen to the negative nancies here. You need to start with Stargate: Origins and Emancipation (S1E04) or you'll have no idea what's going on.
>>217474906>not watching the last episode of SGU first I shiggy diggy
>>217473922Just watch it all in chronological order, if you enjoy it you should also watch Stargate Atlantis (some episodes tie into each other, as both series were on at the same time, find a recommended viewing order for those). There are a few sub-par episodes in the first series of SG1, as has already been mentioned, but it's mostly good, just stick with it.
I'm still mad they never made video games. A Star Wars Battlefront like game would've been fucking awesome.
>>217474984This is that Pacific Northwest/Canada shit I'm talking about.
>>217475105They never made a video game because it would be impossible to make the super advanced ancient civilizations do anything but curb stomp the plot armored Americans.
>>217473690>Teal'c>HomoNot exactly, no. Jaffa and the Goau'ld may indeed come across as being flamboyantly gayer than words can quantify from an Earthborn's perspective however this is a misunderstanding born of a difference of cultures. There are no gay Goau'ld. There are no gay Jaffa. It might look like all of them are very gay but they're not
>>217474906>Stargate: OriginsAfter the Amazon show we're going to have to apologise
>>217473512
>>217473512>What is your favorite episode?
>>217476082Top: extremely advanced society vs primitives with no outside interference. Of course any time they find primitives being fucked with by outsiders they destroy the outsiders.Bottom: apparently the universe was conquered by tons of civilizations that could be overthrown by Bronze Age technology.
>>217473512>What is your favorite episode?1. Ground hog day episode2. O'Neill downloads all of the Ancient's knowledge into his brain episode3. Reckless super strength armbands4. Hugging for warmth on the not really alien ice planet5. Autistic girl teacher Carter how to build Naquadah reactors / O'Neill kidnaps an underaged autistic girl and this is okay because it's the 90s6. Thor recruits SG-1 to fight spider robots because he needs someone who is more retarded than him7. Obligatory Black Hole time dilation episode
>>217473512Ikr? It’s such a charming show, divine even, like a lot of sci fi fantasy of the time only this was better executed than most. Funny thing is I’ve never gotten past season 4 cause I wanted to save it for a better time and didn’t want to finish it when I have almost nothing to look forward to in life. Did the same with farscape, still never finished
>>217473611It's forgiveable because Carter dresses sexy and Jack shits on Star Trek by giving them a gun.
>>217476496Oh and also...8. Time travel to the 60s / hanging out with hippies9. O'Neill hooks up with a very young native girl and turns into a geezer10. O'neill gets stuck on a backwater planet when the stargate gets hit by a meteorite, becomes a farmer and hooks up with a milfThere are too many good ones
>>217473922
>>217473922>>217476686
>>217473949This is accurate
>>217476496>Thor recruits SG-1 to fight spider robots because he needs someone who is more retarded than him"You just blew them apart with shrapnel?"
>>217475469I think Canada offered favourable conditions to production companies, which is why a lot of TV of that era was filmed there.
>>217473922There are maybe 5 or 6 episodes that are both skippable and straight up bad.>Liberation >One False Move>clip shows>Vala episodesArguably, SG-1's strongest point is spectacular world building and the single best example of reasonable power creep I've ever seen in Sci-fi. You absolutely should watch more or less everything in chronological release order.
>>217473758This.Avoid the gay blue crystal episode too. You see a single blue crystal, just skip straight to the next episode. You're welcome.
>>217477321>clip showsOn the contrary, this is probably the TV series in the history of civilisation to make not only a tolerable, but actually good clip show. I'd even go so far as to say they are required viewing - especially if you're a Hollywoodfag who makes TV and is even considering doing a clip show episode.
>>21747663211. Odo is a Nahtzee episode.12. Everybody lives, even Daniel, and he's actually right with his gay peace and holding hands beneath a rainbow faggotry for once eoisode.
>>217473512>What is your favorite episode?Oh man it's hard to pick just one. I kinda like the one where Dr. Frasier gets killed and the news crew gets to film inside the SGC, I for sure thought the reporter guy was gonna be an evil asshole but my expectations were actually pleasantly subverted.
>>217473754:)
>>217473979op was just baiting, anon
