>9 Years Later, Tom Hardy's 10/10 Crime Drama Masterpiece Could Be Making A ComebackStory posted 1/19/2026>This month, Steven Knight has finally shared an update about Taboo season 2, giving the millions who enjoyed the show’s first season a tangible reason to expect a follow-up soon. In an interview with the UK’s Radio Times, Knight revealed that discussions around this second season of the series are further along than anyone could have expected:>"Well, Tom and I have talked about it, and I think we know what we would do. It’s just finding the space. But I'd love to, I get asked about it – especially in the States, actually – I get asked about it a lot.">It seems much more of a case of “when” than “if” Taboo will be making a comeback, then. Knight and Hardy already have a plan in place for how to continue the series. The two of them simply need to align their busy schedules, and the show could be back in production sooner rather than later.https://archive.is/qswln
I'm interested, but just a little. Too much time has passed, plus I don't know anyone who has a lick of interest. Show lost too much momentum. They would have to redo a lot of highest points of the first season
>>217482070>sister is dead so no reason to call it Taboo anymore
>>217482110thank you for reminding me of what i forgot to add to my post lol>But Hardy himself has never given up on Taboo, calling the show “very important” to him. Indeed, the actor previously discussed his wild ideas for Taboo season 2, including one that would feature an insane time jump all the way to the 20th Century. As Hardy told Esquire back in 2021:>“In my head I was thinking, ‘Let’s say they get to America, they get to Canada, fast-forward to 1968, the Tet Offensive, the Vietnam War, look at the CIA, the Viet Cong, the French in Saigon … Take the Delaney family tree out in the jungle, and recreate the same family dynamics that were happening in London but with new people, thinking about how history and corruption repeats itself. It’s still Taboo, it’s still period, but it’s the Sixties. There’s something fun about that.”>Hardy also brought up the possibility of taking his James Delaney character into the Napoleonic Wars, or flashing back to the American War of Independence, or simply continuing on from where season 1 ended, with Delaney and his accomplices, including Jessie Buckley's Lorna, on a ship to America. It’s not yet confirmed what ideas would make up Taboo season 2, but Knight did say back in 2021 that the second season was mostly written, and that the key issue holding things up was Hardy’s busy schedule. Knight reiterated in 2022 that the hope was to get rolling on another season of Taboo in the near future, but again, Hardy's schedule was the hold-up.>It now appears that perhaps those scheduling issues have been worked out, and that Hardy and company are finally at work on Taboo season 2. It’s clear that Hardy has a passion for this material, and is ready to dive back into the saga of the Delaney family, and expand on it in some interesting ways. How long that saga could continue is not known, but Knight did at one point tease Taboo season 3 being the series' intended end-point.https://archive.is/a7gvm
>>217482070Damn I just remembered how much I enjoyed tabooRewatch incoming this week, thanks bro for posting this
>>217482070This show was a two can of ass and it rides entirely on atmosphere and vibes. It creates a textured, but simplistic view of the time period. The most interesting part is the rivalry between the Crown and its own East Indies Company. The protagonist was kinda cringe and kinda forced and at every turn it felt like a trash version of Peaky Blinders, even though it's by the same writer and creator.

>>217482070>9 Years
Three major cast members have become A-Listers in the meantime. Will they return.
What they did not say:>we have a finished script>we have producers>we have directors>we have funding>we have a start date for shootingIt's not happening guys. I don't know how you can read those comments and get anything but optimistic lip service without any commitments.
Hhhhhhhhhhh
>>217483864Be very, very careful.
>>217483542British actors don't play the same game as Hollywood does.Besides, even A-listers tend to bring themselves back down to TV slop now and then, since most of them are out of work and desperate to keep their brand high in case the industry revitalizes itself again.
>>217482070>>217482143>or simply continuing on from where season 1 ended, with Delaney and his accomplices, including Jessie Buckley's Lorna, on a ship to AmericaI hope it's this. We'll get a Stranger Things situation where the cast has aged 9 years and everyone pretending that they look the same.
>>217482070>10/10 Crime Drama MasterpieceIt was alright. Tom Hardy's character could do no wrong and in the end killed everybody that had ever looked at him wrong. Exciting...
Never fucking heard of it
>>217484111Be VERY careful now...
