The Marleyans have been scheming for hundreds of years to genocide the Eldians outside their slave population. The Eldians, meanwhile, and magically cucked by the most stupid portrayal of a pacifist character in fiction.It is impossible to not really be on the Eldians' side, but because of that the show is then arguing that Eren's Rumbling is even morally defensible when it's killing 80% of humanity in a chimp-out is logically stupid and indefensible for anyone with the barest understanding of guilt, justice, or humanity.It's just a big, dumb overblown conflict with absurd stakes that forces the show into this position where it's promoting genocide (for both sides) instead of engaging in a thoughtful narrative about human hatred. Because of being written into a corner, and choosing to argue "for peace" even though the themes of the story are extremely pro-nationalist and pro-violence you have this final arc where the Yeagerists have this stupidly reasonable position that draws too many parallels with human history but missing all the nuance that you can find in history because the fucking crazy ass Marleyans are on the other side and essentially force Eren to cause the Rumbling because, unlike nearly any human nation in history, they can't be reasoned with, they don't feel fear, and everyone bows to their will.It's like AoT was written by a Jew with a chip on their shoulder.
