This man is a fucking lunatic

Please don't post images of me without my consent.

he's basically a knockoff jef costello and jef was a confirmed schizo
>>
>the cure to depression and insomnia is shooting up a local brothel
>>
>>217598824
was he even in nam?
>>
>this was an incel in 1976
wtf
>>

He's got a Vietnamese flag in his apartment so I guess it's supposed to be a war trophy. I always felt like him being a vet kind of took away from the story because it's just another "Vietnam vet has PTSD and can't integrate back into society" issue as opposed to there being this combination of something genuinely wrong with him and society both creating the dangerous mixture.

He was part of the "Outsider" culture of Nam vets coming home that existed at the time
>>
Was there ever another character who embodied 4chan as much as Travis?
>>
>>217598824
Ah good, you understood it
>>
>>217598916
it worked, did it not? retard
>>
>>217599866
No, it didn’t
>>

The movie does not depict it as a cure. It’s only through a twist of fate that he ends up being publicly celebrated rather then pulling off his initial plan and becoming posthumously infamous
>>
>>217600206
it made people respect him and women want to fuck him
>>

>that hoe that dumped you because your social skills are bad?
>she's lusting all over you dick now that you're a famous killer
That was NOT the ending I needed.

Am I the only one who thought the ending was some kind of death-hallucination? It seems too perfect
>>

>it was all in his head bruh

>Girl returns to her family, gets along well with them and the family thanks him
>No mention of punishment for killing multiple people with an illegal firearm.
>Chick who was repulsed and terrified of him earlier is suddenly into him again
>survives multiple gunshots including one to the neck
>Everybody thinks he is a hero

I think it's left vague, but it's hard to believe things end so neatly. The "it was all in his head/a dream" theories became so popular because there were tons of films that used that trope
