They were made within a year of each other and both are his stylistic “Late Stage” so it really becomes clear how facetious and self-deprecating it is. But the whole movie before that is so silly and ridiculous. Sarah Gadon is the best performer in the movie, I feel like she, moreso than Pattinson and everyone else, knows what type of movie she is in… She says everything with a hint of a curled lip and smile, I think Rob thinks he’s doing an arty farty high-falutin’ movie but Gadon knows it’s a bit of a laugh.
