It looked like a comic book and was infinitely quotable kino. The Karl Urban movie was just a slightly sci fi themed rip off of The Raid with some admittedly cool scenes thrown in.

The Raid was pure martial arts kino and came out first. Dredd was a mid action film in the same setting the had some cool and original drug effect sequences but was overall generic low budget nothingness.
