Man this one was boring (at least up until 40 minutes when I stopped watching). Also she's frontrunner (heh) for the stupidest hairstyle award. Is the 2049 one better?
>>217766315If you don't care for atmosphere and world building, no, you won't like either, you simpleton.
>>217766315
>>217766315I have tried like 4 times to watch this movie but I just can't fucking do it. I end up bailing out of it at some point and I can't really remember much of it. I have seen 2049 twice though and enjoyed it about 85% of it.
>>217766315It's good for uncs that watched it 40 years ago. Young people will just think it's retarded. They will think, why is he looking at physical photos when he could just look at a tablet? Don't they have a fuckton of security cameras? In our 2019 they would have found the replicants in a couple of hours. Not bashing on the movie, it is outright impossible to predict how technology will change. I just meant to say there's a generational gap at work.
>>217766315Ray Finkle peaked here
>>217766315Kino visuals that’s all it is, the sequel is even worse
>>217766331>oh my god are those fucking neon lights!Bladerunner isn't any more atmospheric than literally any movie from 80s or 90s Hong Kong.
>>217766722One day you'll grow up and develop your own tastes
>>217766773What does that even mean? Are my tastes not my own somehow?
>>217766760Maybe I'll watch this one because I'm still hungry to watch a movie this week. I don't watch a lot of Hong Kong movies but the last couple of them I saw didn't disappoint
It took me over a decade and multiple attempts to watch Blade Runner all the way through. Finally it clicked. I don't love the movie but I appreciate it and understand it. My advice is don't give up on it. It's a hard one, for sure, but it is worth it.
I didn't really find it interesting or get whatever the message was. The replicants have feelings and emotions just like normal humans...ok? That's it? Dystopian shit just makes me depressed though, I don't like it in general.
>>217766773ThisLittle fag is probably into lynch and other typical slop, they all have the same boring taste
>>217766825How fucking cooked are you that it took you multiple tries and you found it "challenging". Holy fuck it's a fucking sci fi noir movie and it's like 80 minutes long. What the fuck does your top 10 look like? Do you get filtered by anything more difficult than Christopher Nolan?
>>217766892He's hit or miss. Straight Story is also one of my favorites though.
>>217766315/tv/ is full of contrarians who pretend to prefer the original over 2049. 2049 has a much better storyline throughout. Original movie is more about the mood but other than that it's boring. That said I'm not as brainrotted as this guy >>217766825
>>217766825It's a detective movie, not Riemann hypothesis
>>217766909Not him but I definitely get it. I usually try and watch about 10 minutes every 2 or 3 years
>>217766909For me personally it was the way the movie looks. I couldn't get into it because I hated looking at it. That's a me problem. But my taste in movies is kind of weird. My two favorite films of all time are Blade and Songs from the Second Floor.
>>217766998Unironically kill yourself. You're not fit to live. The world would be a better place without you in it.
>>217766934I honestly have no interest in ever watching the sequel because the first one is so perfect.
>>217766825This would’ve been gr8 b8 like ten years ago, unfortunately people now are this gay and retarded
>>217766815NTA. Fallen Angels is pure kino
2049 is just a søyboy version of the original film.
Bad taste and low attention span
Ghost in the Shell was better.
>>217766315"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" >>> 2049 >>Blade Runner
>>217766315Shut up, nigger. No one cares.
>>217766315Yeah I enjoyed 2049 much more. I don't think I even got an hour into the og Blade Runner before realizing how bored I was and turning it off
>>217767294Literally the only worthwhile scene in this movie, the rest are just cool looking shots without anything happening
>>217766315Yeah you'll like 2049 there are more fist fights and explosions and bright colors for your dumb zoomer brain.
>>2177663152049 is way more accessible and "modern" feeling. You might like it if you find the first one to be too boring.
>>217766315Ubik mogs hard
>>217768219Wow boomers were so much better than us for having the patience to sit through 100 minutes of Harrison Ford walking around Hong Kong I kneel I kneel
>>217766315Rachel's look is based on 40s noir characters, specifically Joan Crawford in Mildred Pierce (picrel). The hair style, the shoulder pads, pretty much everything about Rachel's looks.
>>217766315one of the best films ever made and when I want to have sex with my wife I will act like Deckard looking crazed, getting physical and telling her to say "kiss me". kino
>>217768279based
>>217766909I don't know if that one was bait or not but in the last decade I've noticed anything that isn't a blockbuster being treated like upper echelon inaccessible art for some reason. Like The Northman got billed as an arthouse movie when it was an action flick along the lines of Gladiator, which nobody treats that way. I saw Blade Runner in 2013 when I was a teenager and thought it was the coolest thing ever and watched it a bunch of times. Just watched it again recently and it's still cool and flashy and I can't imagine getting filtered by something so fun.

>>217766315>Is the 2049 one better?Yes, according to /tv/

>>217770038Okay it's time for your nap, gramps
>>217766315nah it was alright especially the intro interview stuff i found the sequel way more.boring
>>217766359i watched it for the first time recently after years of putting it off and assuming I liked its concept and influences on later media more than I'd enjoy the film itself.I liked its concept and influences on later media more than I enjoyed the film itself. There's interesting visuals but the plot is incredibly linear. Perfect Gen X film.

>>217766489>Zoom zoom thinks security cameras didn't exist back then.

I didn't like both films.
2049 is great and it's only problem is the gay plot elements from the first movie that was basically forced into it.
Show dems UNCs deys movies is boring ahh gramps shidd....better watch skibidi dop dop dop yess yeas skibidi de dip dip
All I remember from Bladerunner is how rapey the love scene is.He just grabs her and tells her she wants it repeatedly while she tries to leave the room and begs him to stop.
2049 doesn't even have a story. It's neat for the first half when he's just fucking around the city. Then it tries to pretend it has a point and something to tell but it doesn't. No one cares about replicants breeding and no one believes that would actually be a problem to recreate. It's laughable to pretend their perfect breeding model would die giving birth the first time and hilarious to imply Deckard was le chosen to fuck Rachel. Then they hide their super special child in some slave pit for kids before she's sent to live in a sealed glass room forever after making memories in plain site of the guy who wants her most? The whole thing is just so goddamn stupid. No one gave a shit when Deckard reunited with her. It was just old grumpy Harrison Ford looking at some literal who woman at thay point.
>>217770038Not okay.
2049 is a dishonest flick.
>>217766315I am 50. I was moved by both films in different ways. I love the atmosphere and plot of both. Sean Young is so beautiful, it's painful. If you like comfy movies where you immerse yourself, these are both for you.
What if it was called Blader Retirers
>>217766315nah. these movies aren't made for you. stick to capeshit threads and that's it. you're wasting our time.
>>217766315Youre not wrong. The visuals are great but the characters are bland.
>>217766315>zillennials too cynical to understand carrying a sense of meloncholy and nostalgia for better times while living in a tech-laden and uncaring worldEveryone in the movie wants something they can't have, with the push-pull of desire meeting an inflexible reality being the entire tension of the film. But so many of you morlock bastards can't stand a film without quips and explosions every 10 seconds, because your tiktok brains have been programmed to be useless like that. There are zoomies who genuinely thought John Wick was boring because he doesn't kill anyone in the first 30 minutes. Even that tiny bit of world building and establishing emotional stakes was too much for them. The jews are right about the goyim.
>>217766315>Man this one was boringDirector's cut? Final cut? If you watched the original with the voice over it's a completely different and shitty movie as compared to the later edits. Also, this: >>217766331
