Started watching this and it's major sin so far an hour in is everything going on for way too long and boring me to death no matter what is happening. The effect is multiplied by the fact that too many obvious unanswered questions linger on way too long. Like who the fuck is the black bitch and why would a pack of Nazis tolerate her attitude for a microsecond, let alone in the then CURRENT YEAR?Do you think this would have been better received with a tighter edit, or would it be just as annoying due to the other horseshit? Make it more obvious, etc.?Also, did anyone ever ask, what the motherfucking hell is that Phoebe Waller-Cunt even wearing in this film? I don't get what costuming was even going for here. It just makes her look even more out of place in this world and accentuates how ridiculous her frame is compared to the shit she's doing physically. You could dress a gooney bird that outfit and it would look more congruent:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RISsiVIWV-M
>>217771218Indiana Jones 2 is the best film of the franchise
>>217771234aka Indiana Jones Poo
>>217771218Man, if you're not enjoying the movie, drop it entirely. Give them 30 minutes at best, why waste time?
>>217771218The first sequence on the train where they're trying to mimic the old movies is really fun and exciting, then it turns into annoying wokeslop. Mads is a cool villain despite written poorly.>tighter editYeah cut out almost every scene with the woman in it>>217771234Faggot take. I'm convinced half the people who say this are horrorfags and Temple of Doom was the first gorey movie they got to watch as a kid.
>>217771218I watched this on a plane and I nearly walked out! Heyo!
>>217771234>>217771768Seems to be a personality thing. I bet he thinks 'Empire' is the best of the Star Wars OT too, but I never rated it that highly due to darker tone and it is obviously half a movie taken by itself that just ends abruptly. Doesn't mean that it doesn't have cool and unique shit in it just like 'Temple of Doom'.I've always liked the third in these trilogies personally because a whole bunch of shit comes together in a complex and spectacular way tying up all the themes and character crap from the proceeding films in an essentially happy ending, (but usually with some bittersweet elements too like fallen comrades). Just my personal preference.I think one thing both types of people agree on is the the originals are their second preference. I'm inclined to say the original Star Wars goes underappreciated in these debates and deserves to be higher rated, and not just because the originals were first and spawned better-financed sequels. They were dramatically kino in their own right. I still feel suspense during the Battle of Yavin whenever I rewatch that film, same as the first time I saw it.
>>217771218If you think i even considered watching this after all the previous Disney fuckery (specifically what they did to the OT characters on DIsney Wars) you are either mad or naive. No, thank you... i rather keep my memories of Indy intact (well, as close to that as possible... i mean, i need to forget about crystal skull faster)
>>217771768The opening River Phoenix sequence in 'The Last Crusade' was 12 minutes, and does a lot more with that time than 'Dial of Destiny' does with the de-aged Harrison Ford in twice the time. I think that's the real problem.I wasn't bothered by the de-aging or CGI much at all, but boy it lacked punchiness after a while and started to become meh. Such a pity. But exactly the kind of thing I'm referring to in the OP. Could cutting it down have helped this film significantly at all? Also weird when the standard-NATO studio response when they know they have a stinker is to cut it down as much as possible so they can show it more times before anyone tells anyone else.
>>217771234The Marion introduction in Temple of Doom is one of the best pieces of film ever. Indiana Jones 2 is kino from start to finish.
>>217771943Well I've never felt the strongest emotional attachment to the franchise despite being a kid when they came out, so I'm not too worried about it 'ruining' my memories. The OT are just fucking great films and filmmaking in action to me.Which is certainly not what I'm expecting in the particular era this film is from or from the people involved. Call it belated morbid curiosity. Maybe just wondering if there's any redeeming qualities, good performances, etc. If the OT is a masterclass in what to do, then subsequent entries seem to be examples of what not to do.For one thing, it really annoys me when Hollywoodfags, whether it be directors or faggot actors, (like Bill Murray), wait until they age too much before doing a subsequent film. There's obviously a sweet spot for this shit, and waiting until you're totally outside the window of opportunity is just asking for trouble. There oughta be a rule or contract clause or something that says if you don't get your arse in gear by a certain timeframe at least, fucking forget it.
>>217772012There is so much good about Temple you could cite it all day. But I wonder if for some people that shit was like having their minds totally blown by the AT-ATs on Hoth when you walk into a sequel expecting the worst, not HOLY MOTHERFUCKING SHIT ON A POPSICLE STICK!!!:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3u3731eGTMGreat opening and great scene, not the only one in Empire. Nobody would dispute that. But overall the movie is my least favourite. At the same time I understand anyone who hates motherfucking Ewoks and that's what they mostly remember about RoTJ.
>>217772116Episode 5 has everything without carrying the burden of introducing the main characters like Episode 4 or bringing the story to an end like Episode 6. It's 2 hours of fun characters, great locations, epic battles and phenomenal music. What's not to like?
>>217772175Picrel mostly. I can't stand watching it unless I can watch RotJ right after. Beyond that it's the darker tone and I'm not so much of a Yodafag I guess. Also you forget that it has to do a little fuckery in relation to the original to make shit fit ... from a certain point of view.Just like BTTF II it has to introduce its own shit, like Marty suddenly doesn't like being called 'chicken' but always has, and Doc likes the Old West and has an interest in women. The final film on that score is the one free to have fun with those things in the end.Can play out with inconsistent results though. Like Lando is fucking awesome and cool he destroys the second Death Star, but he still felt underutilised. Awesome in 'Empire', but felt a almost sidelined in RotJ with so much shit going on. Though he does save them from ramming the shield and keeps the fleet there I guess.
>>217771895>I bet he thinks 'Empire' is the best of the Star Wars OT too, but I never rated it that highly>I've always liked the third in these trilogiesOf course he thinks that. Everyone thinks that. Preferring Jedi to Empire is a contrarian take, anon. Empire is very widely regarded as the better movie (because it is). Normies, nerds, critics, film snobs. Fucking everyone. And rightfully so. It's a well crafted film from a significantly more acclaimed director and it doesn't have dancing teddy bears.
>>217772919Faggots all think 'The Godfather' is the shit too, but I can't stand that film. It's not contrarian, it's personal taste. I just don't like the guido gangster shit and don't know why anyone else gives a crap either. So same goes for Godfellas and all that other crap too.I always liked the 'triple ending' of Jedi and how it all ties together, even though the Endor stuff was the weakest. Palpatine's trap and his shit is fucking awesome.
What happened to the Indy character anyway? The real Indy was an explorer and adventurer, why would he shit all over the moon landing?
>>217773958Because the faggots who made it saw Toy Story and missed the point? Also missed the fact that Toy Story 3 was the perfect ending and they shouldn't make any more of those either.
