Well it's pretty bad and evil. It's mean spirited demoralising propaganda. The visuals are done pretty alright though in some scenes. The casting is alright for the main characters. Noggins can't really act and he thinks he's cool, funny and intimidating as the ghoul but he's not. It has like 12 different plotlines at all times but none of them ever progress. No side characters are good. They should have had only two main plots. One would be the pre war Walton Goggins story and the other would be about Lucy carrying the macguffin across the wasteland while Maximus and the Ghoul alternate babysitting her. And the ghoul should actually be mean to her instead of this bullshit where what he does has zero consequences and they like say he secretly has a heart of gold or some shit. No I want him to actually make Lucy suffer. Make her cry, make her want to kill herself. Have her be addicted to chems for the rest of her life and never give her finger back. I'm okay with Maximus sometimes sitting on the edge between neutral and good karma though.

I like the sets and the costumed extras. Making Goggins into John Fallout is a misstep. The show as a whole is passable for something made by corpo suits. I like the pre war stuff but holy fuck it doesn't need to be half the show. The overarching story feels like it doesn't go anywhere because there's too many story lines shoved together. What happened in the Norm storyline? He woke up the vault, they go to a vaut tec building, he sees something about FEV on a terminal and then the pre war vaulties die to radroaches. It took 8 episodes.

I've been enjoying it a lot. every time I felt they were writing themselves into a corner, the next episode or two wormed them out of it. and it's a good setting for a show, which I can't believe I'm saying, because I tend to think video game adaptations are automatically terrible. I had a friend who was really into that witcher series and the show, and I had to really bite my tongue to not express how disinterested I was in all of it. that said, if I didn't already have Amazon prime, I'd never have thought about watching this to begin with. it's just a fun thing to put on after a boozy afternoon.

I've seen all the episodes and I have no fucking clue what the two main characters are even about (the frog woman and the mullato). I don't even get why they're doing what they're doing, what drives them, what makes them decide to do one thing or another. They're just walking plot devices.
Goggins has a more concise arc but even then it's full of weird leaps of judgment or contrivances. And they keep complicating his backstory to generate epic twists or whatever the fuck.
None of it makes any sense, instead of following some sort of plot structure they're doing the same shit high concept shows have been doing for a while now and that is to just throw random mini-twists along the way until you don't know who the fuck is doing what and why and everything about the characters keeps changing every now and then to keep it "interesting".

I can't tell you yet. A lot of stories in the show have started, but few have ended. Seems like Hank's story ended with the lobotomy he received from Lucy, so that was lame.
The visual aspects are decent to good. Season 1 had better visuals though.
The main problem is that it'll take god knows how many seasons for any interesting story in the show to reach its conclusion. For example, I don't give a shit about Quintus's little character arc of becoming Dark Quintus after he failed to achieve peace. None of the Brotherhood characters are relatable. I literally don't give a shit about the Brotherhood of Steel as a faction in the show, despite the fact that their power armor and vertibirds look fucking awesome. They blew all that budget on the BoS just to give the faction no character development at all.

I want to like it, it's got the fundies of a good show. I like the characters and whoever's making the props and the costumes and the sets is having a ball, but you can't make a show out of constant lore drops, plot twists and le ebin cool moments.
I don't think it's a problem just in fallout, though, I feel like every second show in the streaming age is like this.
There's a dozen different plots and every scene goes like

I would have had his daughter's be empty, but his wife is in hers, but she's like 90 years old because she's spent time out of cryo in the 200 years he's been looking for her. And then they have a tearful reunion and she dies. That way you can keep doing his searching for family story but you get at least some payoff for this season.
