I liked NuMST3K
>>

She was cute to look at, Patton killed hia wife though
>>
>>217782779
Then why didn't you cough up the $4,000,000 Joel needed to keep it alive?
>>
>>217782779
At this point I think Joel was just grifting for some extra cash one more time whilst smothering 'his' baby.

Mike and the boys will make things right.
>>
>>217782779
That's cool that you like it or even love it. It doesn't affect me that you like it, in fact, I'm happy for you, so I guess it does affect me. If you're happy, I'm happy.

General George C. Scott killed his wife?
>>
>>217782814
Perhaps Joel overestimated the size of hardcore paying mst3k fans a bit. Or even the size of mst3k fans.
>>
>>217782779
Her eyes are not smiling.
>>
>>217782814
Why didn't Joel make a low budget production in Minnesota?
>>
>>217782797
Patton and Day (and the celeb guest appearances) were the worst part but the movie riffs were generally funny.
It gets too much hate from /MST3KTruthers/ on this board
>>
>>217783037
Yea but George C Scott was a great actor
>>
I didn't even like original MST3K. I don't get the appeal of watching shitty old movies while some retards talk over it. It was just youtube nigger reaction videos before youtube. Do you guys not have friends to get drunk and watch attack of the 50 Foot Lobsters with?
>>
some of them as fine as background noise. the riffs anyway

News flash, noone wanted to watch wife murderer patton oswalt tramp around on yet another grave
>>
>>217783061
Joel wanted to make it like SNL where they'd just bring in new performers every few years instead of just keeping it Gen-X centric where they make jokes about old 1970s commercials

>Do you guys not have friends to get drunk and watch attack of the 50 Foot Lobsters with?

Not at this time, no. :(
>>
>show old movie
>ruin it by putting some unfunny faggot's shadow in the corner
???
>>
>>217783093
I know this word gets thrown around a lot but for me at least, MST3K is peak /comfy/
I also love just seeing these old movies and what they say about what life was like for people when they were made. Seeing movies set in 1950 is like seeing a movie from a foreign country today. I guess that's actually a bit painful, seeing how degraded and shitty things seem today compared to then, but it's still fun to see.

How does a Gen Xer talking over it enhance your 50s movie viewing experience?
>>
>>217782779
Katie Sachoff from Battlestar Gallactica was on nuMST3K?
>>
>>217783365
How doesn't it?
>>
>>217783365
The riffs are well written and timed, and do a good job at pointing out the often strange editing and directorial decisions that led to the final product. And they do it in a way that isn't mean spirited.
Weirdly, I feel like the rise of AI makes me appreciate MST3K and the old movies they pan even more. Like, even though a lot of the movies they cover are bad from various technical standpoints, they still represent the cumulative effort of a team of humans who got together to try and tell a story. All the decisions and choices that went into the movie, while odd, are still made by a human being.
