Why do so many movies so thematically shallow? Even the most well-regarded films of all time typically cannot stand on their own without the visual element. They're at best midwit-tier, and at worst retard-tier.

>>217785150Themes are chill and all, but what the medium is about is feels. You're supposed to be immersed in feels (strong) and vibes (less strong). Also, even with what you perceive as shallow/surface level, you can still penetrate deeper if your literacy and the movie's construct allow for it; most things are as shallow or deep as your mind allows you to penetrate.
