When I go to someone's house and they put a movie on the first thing I do is ask for the remote and check the settings. If they're wrong and fucked up I'll explain to the host why their settings are wrong and I'll insist on correcting them. I'm very insistent.

the "vivid" mode usually has ultrabright unnatural colors and the motion interpolation effect activated, and that makes everything look like a shitty soap opera. Sometimes it's even the default mode.

One time i was at a friend's house and his screen door was squeaky as fuck so i got wd40 out of my car and lubed it up and stopped it from squeaking and he got all mad because he liked knowing when someone was coming in the house.
