Why is it so easy to binge a 10 hours season, but so hard to watch a 2 and 1/2 hour movie?

Has this ever been explained?

Hooks and cliffhanger and ad break writing vs they paid for the ticket, they're going to sit through it

The film asks for your undivided attention for 90 - 180 minutes. A tv series is generally cut into 10 or so 50 minute episodes that have designated breaks in between each episode so it never feels as committal for someone with attention deficit issues.

Seasons are filled with endless filler. Like a 5 mins scene of somebody walking to their car while ominous music plays. I wish I was making this up.
Even "great" shows like Breaking Bad have endless shots of characters just staring into space.
