Is this the GOAT car chase?
No, that's Revolutions.
>>217790730Yes, but I also enjoyed Ronin’s.
Would've been better if it started outside the city and made its way in.
>>217790730One vote for French Connection.
To Live and Die in L.A
>>217790730Yes.Unfortunate that it's trapped in a mediocre movie.
>>217790874came to post this. it's not even a debate.
>>217790730Too unrealistic. That mustang would never be able to keep up.
>>217790874Too bad nothing in the rest of the film makes any sense.
>>217790874i will now watch this movie.my vote goes for the best car chase ever:La Cité de la peur (1990)
>>217790730show had some problems but this was a high pointhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nO_sT4F_so
>>217790730Yes, probably. Followed by the Italian Job (the original not the shit yank remake) https://youtu.be/RtWkewqIFDMhttps://youtu.be/ZUFBgSxw09A
>>217790730Does mad max 2 count?
>>217791726None of this is impressive since those cars are obvious CG'd in there.
>>217790730What movie?

>>217790874uhhh based.
For me it's the underrated bit in The French Connection.
>>217790730Gone in 60 seconds is one giant car chase
>>217792138So is Vanishing Point

>>217792075didnt they film that one on public streets without closing them down?
>>217790730The Terminator chases are underrated>T1https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuFkEzwi58oEfficient, semi-realistic, evolves (from cars to guns, to take over the wheel and crash). Great editing, solid photo, moody music, balanced acting (silent chaser, panicing woman, hero who handles the action with the means available)>T2(inb4 helicopters, trucks and bikes aren't cars - they're vehicles, and it happens on the road, if TLADILA counts T2 should count)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6z9qws7M8q8Explosive start and ending, has a heavyness to it, David vs Goliat, dexterity vs strength, filled with foreshadowing when the Truck crushes the rusty cars, incredible build up to the jump, the music and photo is top notch. The only problem is the stuntmens faces can be seen, but during your first watch you're just in awe so you won't notice it)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQH7wnwBxYwCrazy stunts all over, insane sequence with the helicopter maneuvers under/over the highway bridges. A very tuned color-scheme, great contrast to the previous chases in the movie, the mobility is reverse. Fun moments inserted with the third hand and the get out. The chase never really ends.
>>217790749True.
>>217792566>cameron was trying to figure out how to shoot the scene so it looks like the helicopter flies under the bridge>the pilot says "fuck it, we'll do it live" and just flies under the fucking thing
>>217790730Fast and Furious 11 will shit all over this
matrix reloaded
>>217790730Never really like the editing of this chase. They reuse too many moments, and not in the cool "john woo"-slow mo way but more in a deja vu-sense where the viewer questions if they didn't already passed the same route/car earlier. The ending is also a big abrupt, trivializes the villains.
https://youtu.be/kuORFS5Q6cY?si=Nixtde9_tfmxOY0S&t=222It's not the best, far from it, but still somewhat underappreciated, several of the stunts (the bike jumps and pic related) are so close to result in lethality it'll never be done like this again. There's a few similar car chases in the movies of Jackie Chan, the Police Story 1, Who Am I? and so on, all extremely dangerous and because that they deserve a mention.
I'm partial to the bmw-bond chase mainly due to the many reaction faces of Pierce Brosnanhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RN63LoWs1XU
>>217790730The best car chase ever filmed is part of ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER. Chuds cannot deny nor refute this.
>>217790874this>>217791396what exactly do you have issues with? to live and die in la is a perfect film

>>217790730Too many great chase scenes out there to pick a favourite, but it's always great if people make new suggestions>>217792169Been listening to the soundtrack this weekIt's such a good movie>>217793600It's a neat scene in a great movie but nahToo many little things wrong like the constant loop of the same engine sound effects
>>217790730I was always pleasantly surprised by the car chase from Short Time (1990). Dabney Coleman plays a police detective who thinks he has a terminal disease, but the only way for his family to get maximum payout on his life insurance policy is if he dies in the line of duty, so the whole movie is him being intentionall reckless in an attempt to die. Thus begins 7 minutes of American shitboxes comically smashing into each other. It's pretty great.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlSMrxXrba0
>>217790730It's certainly up there. Not sure if anyone mentioned Ronin but it has a good car chase.
>>217796071Haven't seen that since I was a kid.Was pretty funny.
>>217790730no, still good though. but the intro on the other hand... now THATS GOATED
>>217790730>Is this the GOAT car chase? It's really good, though the Dodge Challenger (Charger?) loses like a dozen beauty rings during the scene.
>>217790853This and this >>217790752
>>217790874Just watched it, damn that was a good car chase.
>>217793519I was gonna say TND but go with the handcuffed motorcycle chase laterthe editing with shots of Bond looking and deciding what to do on the fly, with the proper shots of the environment as he goes through the streets, up the makeshift ramps, on the roofs, over the helicopter blades, and finally under the helicopter blades gives the audience the feeling that they're figuring this out along with Bond
