I remember when Walking Dead was considered the big three with Breaking Bad and GoT
no one ever thought that
>>217793148>"A TV show has a beginning, a middle, a middle, a middle, until the whole things dies of exhaustion" - Joel Coen
>>217793188This. Cash cows come and go, slop is forever.
>>217793148Darabont leaving is the only correct answer
>>217793166They did during the first season but then they stopped say the n word and it all feel apart. There a life lesson in there for all of us.
>>217793148This main cast spin offs are huge shit shows. >Negan and maggie>will they won't they>annoying Asian boy willing to burn the world and family for access to wrinkly old white gilf pussyand>Redneck in paris>everything in French>no real threats since all the people and zombies are french
>>217793148Finally got around to reading the comics. Only read most of the first book so far and yeah, the show did a pretty piss poor job capturing the real anguish and brutality of the apocalypse. I get it was TV so they had to pull some punches, but still. The whole show just turned into a lame soap opera between extremely boring settlements. Should have stopped after the governor.
>>217793148>>217793843>first season>Meryl calling joggers noggers>final season>Rick & Negan only legacy is their black sonsyou honestly have to start rooting for the zombies at some point.
>>217794074Should have had negan bash everyone's head in and then roll credits. End the series and then get one or two seasons of the negan show before putting the whole franchise to rest. I mean comic negan but the way not show negan.
It dragged on and became plot points became circular. Major plot armor for the characters in the later seasons, unless the actors came out very obviously. It stopped being about a zombie apocalypse fantasy. That’s how a lot of this shit starts out. Your escape plan. It just became repeat “the rogue faction and compete for resources” bullshit #100
>>217793148all the juice ran out, i'd say it basically died when they got to alexandria and it transitions from survival to tribal politics. i hate all of the stuff with alexandria, hilltop, the saviors, oceanside and the kingdom. the show becomes slightly more enjoyable in the latter seasons but that's mainly because the whisperers reintroduced something scary back into the show (before becoming a boring novelty). the whisperers in the graveyard is one the best scenes in tail end of the show - but that really sums up the rest of the show for me, some cool moments amongst a dreary season long arcthe other big problem with the show is the cast churn and killing off established characters and then introducing new inferior people to replace them. it's hard to keep up with it when you don't know much about the new main characters and they are generally don't have much about them.the thing is, the only interesting part of a zombie apocalypse is the outbreak and the subsequent collapse of society following it. i guess you could say the eventual status quo far in the future is interesting too but it's almost impossible to get there without boring your audience. at some point, the zombie threat has to be minimised and it becomes a chore/natural part of people's day to day as they just live. everyone in twd at some point becomes perfectly capable of headshotting every walker or effortlessly dispatching groups of them with a dagger/hatchet/etc, it's hardly enthralling when zombies become a nuisance.. except when the script suddenly decides someone has to be stuck
>>217794074My favorite yet most hilarious change>take a character who's entire arc revolves around being soft and dependent into a hardened independent survivor >reduce her to a sobbing mess who fucks everyone
>>217794393This, also way too many lgtbq+, trannies, homos and lesbos fucking each other. Who the hell wants to watch that shit?
>>217794691Just sounds like realism to me. Plus I'm pretty sure Andrea died in the original camp and it was her sister that went on to become the badass in the comic.
They never had a plan. It was always just a regular ass drama placed in an interesting setting
>>217794747>here is your fearless leader that survived the end of the world and was elected by the survivors to lead them
>>217794691I also had no idea that Andrea and Dale were shacking up. The comics are wild.
>>217793148imo the first episode is the only good thing about it. really nothing else is ever like that on tv that allows silence. action without exposition.it honestly felt like it respected someone's intelligence enough that they could watch things and not have them commented upon. and then subsequently every episode after that started the soap opera and every character expositioning all the time. shame.
>>217794844The worst part was the “spin the wheel” mentality of pairing people up for romances. They were so unbelievably forced and cringe. >Gabriel and Rosita
>>217794822Woman leaders in the apocalypse will always be lame nonsensical bullshit, just at like any point except the present in all human history really.
>>217794860Seriously if you are going to Black the hottest girl in the apocalypse then it should have been with Mercer at least.
>>217793148Robert kirkman let them kill off carl, he let his comic books be ruined just for his shekels, killing off certain characters too soon, them pairing up Rick and michone,
