Logan Paul made over 50 million dollars in one year when he blew up. Mr Beast is a billionaire. I was impressed by how they fleshed out the world and took a 45 minute game into a 2hour movie. you wonder how a movie set in one place can keep your attention for 2 hours but they do a good job. also the sound design made it a good film to see in surround sound they did well with capturing that
>>217793913Most Hollywood types also aren't mega billionaires. I don't understand how that's at all relevant. Markiplier is not some scrappy underdog rising up against the elites. I just finished watching it in the cinema and wow, what an amazing film. I'd give it a solid 8/10.The weakest part of the film is most definitely the beginning, where Mark's inexperience as an actor shows. But that inexperience wears off within minutes and his acting skills continually improves substantially over the course of the film. His portrayal of Simon's dread and hopelessness over realizing that there is no plan to retrieve him, meaning he is going to die down in the ocean felt incredibly real. And there honestly wasn't a single part in the film where the dialogue felt forced or unnatural. It's just such a weird contrast to regular films and series where people don't talk like people.I loved how accurately the film portrayed playing the game as well, with the controls of the ship never being explained outright. Simon going from carefully experimenting with the controls to learn what does what to recklessly drifting with the sub once he becomes familiar with them is pretty much exactly what happens in the game as well. All in all, I really enjoyed what Iron Lung had to offer. I hope Mark makes more films of this quality and I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him act more.
Kino movie

We need it more than anything!">"No! You said the info was the last thing you needed!"Now, I don't think they clarified and this is just me assuming, but I got the impression that the black box WAS the information he downloaded from the sunken ship. Like that's where it went upon being downloaded. In which case, it was weird the woman didn't specify "The black box IS the information! If you don't get it, there was no point in you even downloading the info in the first place!" Which feels like information she'd want to share with him in order to avoid any issues.

The alien present inside the blood moon is a physical representation of the "god" that caused the quiet rapture. And the light serves as a portal back to our level of reality. As the "god" cannot exist in our level of reality in its current form, it tries to convince Simon after infecting him to enter the light, as this would allow it to escape its prison using Simon's body as a host. This is why it was so angry and afraid at Simon choosing to rescue the black box instead, as the information inside would cause the remainder of humanity to stop sending down subs (and thus giving the "god" no more attempts to escape).

>>217793507>Go see Iron Lung. it's kinoI’m going Saturday.
>>217803760I think there should have been a bit more clarification that Ava only went in the ocean to get close enough to Simon's ship to wirelessly download information off his black box and not to actually rescue him. Only, she got caught by the monster when she got to the sea floor and then told him to release the black box from its position, so it had a chance to not be swallowed by the monster. Simon using the swimming vest to ensure it also would float to the surface was a stroke of genius she wasn't even counting on.
Honestly, even though it probably only happened two or three times, it *felt* like the>"Get this thing for us.">"Okay! Got it.">"We don't actually want that. We sent you down there to die.">"But... I don't wanna die...">"Okay, well, if you can get this other thing for us, then we'll rescue you."bit happened like four or five times throughout the movie and it was just getting increasingly exhausting and ridiculous. It got to the point where I ultimately didn't even know what HQ wanted and were expecting out of Simon. Did they actually want anything? By the end of it, the best I could figure out was they knew about the sea creatures and were just feeding convicts to them so they could study their behavior, but weren't actually after any tangible reward or resource.
Blah blah blah.At the end of the day, Markiplier boldly stepped up and did a thing and it worked. And we're here.

theatres should have cheaper ticket prices for low budget indie moviesi can understand people reviewing/rating this within the context of its small stature but you're still paying a premium price to see it
they still havent updated iron lung on boxofficemojowhats going oni dont like cheating
>>217793507yet corporations are the ones distributing itpersonally, i prefer TIDkill indies. behead indies. roundhouse kick indies into the concrete. slam dunk an indie into the trash can. crucify filthy indies. defecate in an indie's food. launch indies into the sun.also oneyplays' content is better
>>217794007Markiplier isn't an elite. Even if he had 10x his current wealth, he has zero structural power. He doesn't own any major companies nor does he occupy any prominent positions.

>>217805723>>217793682>>217794435>>217793507The 2 hours of this film felt like a needless directors cut or something. Literally everyone I know who saw it admitted to falling asleep at some point while watching it. Aren't horror films supposed to be suspenseful? Aka not be a a fucking snoozefest? The fact it was made by markiplier is the only redeeming quality of this movie, but I'd never rewatch or recommend it.
>>217804906>>217793507Yeah I was waiting for some sort of exposition that just never came.>bit happened like four or five times throughout the movie and it was just getting increasingly exhausting and ridiculous. It got to the point where I ultimately didn't even know...Watching this felt like purposely tuning in to some movie that was airing over TV in the 2000s and just deciding to watch it without context because there wasn't any way to rewind it from the start. Or going to the dentists office and waiting in the lobby and watching whatever movie they were playing on the TV for guests and it happens to be something you've never seen before. But its fine because you aren't paying for exactly that in any of the two aforementioned scenarios. And the thing is for a 2 hour movie it actually didn't really even feel like it? There's so much repetition with him asking the same stuff over and over again that I feel my brain just tuned it out after a certain point + drifting off to snooze town for a few minutes. Its also a personal pet peeve of mine when directors leave off on an ambiguous ending. That + the insane lack of background and context really blueballed me at the ending.
>>217810697The ending is a lot more developed than the game funny enough
>>217793507can someone explain to me what happened in the last part of this film? when sm8 was doscovered and woman wanted mark to go back it sounded like the crew up above ocean were attacked?
>>217793545The creator's a christian so I like the theory that it's them going through the actual rapture.
>>217793507I bought a ticket but I don't feel like watching it
>>217812390She said she would go back for him personally, I think she went down in a sub and was attacked.
>>217812628oh i seebut latershe said that she can't rescue him? that whole part is confusing to me because the monster speaks over her
horror sci fi, markiplier was a good lead hope he blows up and is in more flicks. really enjoyed how they did the monsters, hard to come up with original stuff, the entire time i thought they were inside a giant body fighting cancer cells so i was surprised with the ending.
>>217812390After escaping the caves, Simon makes contact with Ava.He tells her about the crashed SM-8, which was an advanced research sub, not an expendable exploration vessel manned by a prisoner. She give Simon her credentials and tells him to go back to obtain the black box's information, and in return she will go down the ocean herself and meet up with him at the entrance of the caves. He does so, but his blood infection gets worse and through this infection, the monster hivemind is able to communicate to him through some form of telepathy. It tries to dissuade him from obtaining the information on the black box.Simon ignores it and obtains the information and travels to the entrance where Ava reveals that she was never going to drag his sub back up. She was going to download the information off his sub's black box and leave him down there. But before she's able to do so, she gets captured by the monster. She tells Simon to remove the black box from its position so the monster won't be able to destroy that one as well.Despite the monster trying to persuade him into merging with it and obtaining "freedom", Simon instead sacrifices himself by attaching the life vest to the black box and exploding the sub, so it can float to the surface.I'm pretty sure this is what happened.
>>217793507>go show up those rich corporate suits by supporting this rich corporate suitCan you at least just admit that you're shilling this movie because the writer is your surrogate father that you had while growing up on the internet, instead of pretending that supporting one of the richest and most influential youtubers is somehow supposed to go against rich corporations? You'd come across as less of a disingenuous faggot.
>>217812922Did you see the movie?
>>217812794>I'm pretty sure this is what happenedyeah me too but i think i didn't get if they drop him from some space ship in orbit or just some floating platform this is why i was confused about Ava part
Not interested, sorry
>>217812986The planet is a gigantic ocean with a gigantic barge serving as a base of operations. The subs are build and are dropped down the ocean inside of this barge, while being connected with a gigantic rope so the barge can pull the sub back up.Does that clear the situation up for you? Or do you want me to go into more detail? I can draw something in ms paint if that would help.
It's visually well made but just really, really boring and should've been a short. Some ideas are just better as shorts.
>>217813175I think they adapted it well for a feature film, but maybe an hour and a half instead of two hours would have been better.
>>217813175>>217813245Seriously, how short are your attention spans? There was never not something to look at or think about.
>>217810697if you find it boring then ok, but if you really struggled to keep your brain on then your brain and attention span is fried and your opinion invalid

>>217813321I literally said in my original comment it felt shorter than it actually was. The length isnt an issue in itself, its the lack of anything substantial happening within that time frame, hence it not feeling as long/plot pacing issues.

>>217816095I forgot the blurb at the start of the movie, but in the game it's explicitely oceans on asteroids, not planets. We only get this view from the main menu.
>>217816095kek thank you anon God bless You
i was genuinely surprised at how kino it was, i didn't think it'd be bad but i thought it would just be okay, but that was fucking great. mark's acting was way more competent than i was expecting as well, i thought it'd suffer from him over-acting again like in space, but he really sold it.
>>217816095I love this, anon, thank you for your work.
