When Ozy catches the bullet in the comic its absolutely crazy and drives home that he really is the peak of what a human can become. Borderline superhuman. Which is an interesting parallel to his mental state. Its huge because everyone (other than Manhattan) is a normal human. The constant matrix fighting trivializes Ozy catching the bullet. Everyone is already a superhuman badass. The tone is fucked.The film also deserves the biggest blame for the retarded faggots who unironically think Ozy was right. Which undermines the central theme of the story. People misunderstanding Rorschach is a different and lesser issue, also caused by the film.
