Alan Moore has reasons to dislike DC, they once used his friend's brother's terminal illness to try and manipulate him. They tried to use loads of people to manipulate him over the years. Even when the Watchmen movie was coming out, Alan would sign books. Alan is a really nice man, I've met him, chatted with him and got my books signed. People take his quotes out of context or prod him for an angry old man quote but he's actually a nice thoughtful person who was screwed over. His relationship with DC wasn't just a business one, it was personal, he was given assurances, it was built on trust and friendships. But even after being screwed over he was pretty chill. Then he reached a point after the Watchmen film where he moved on, started writing novels and doing local projects. He still loves comics, his daughter said that, but he's doing other things.Damon Lindelof tried to contact Alan Moore when developing the show. Alan pretty much politely said, no thanks I don't want to talk to you. So Damon went on a huge rant in an interview about how Watchmen isn't original and Alan's a hypocrite, how he's taking Alan's punk attitude to say fuck you Alan Moore. Damon is a little grubby neurotic pig.

It's flawed but interesting and entertaining. It's a little out there for a big budget TV show and I'm always there for that. As a continuation of Watchmen it's terrible, it completely puts aside the themes and characterizations of the original work so much that the plot doesn't even make any sense if you're taking the show as a continuation of the comic.
