How do you feel about black people in movies?Personally, I'm so bored of movies about brave intelligent and fun black people being oppressed by the evil boring whites. It's so dull. Oh look another Peele movie about how white people are the real monsters, amazing. For instance Jordan Peele can literally make movies about how evil and scary my docile family and safe neighborhood are and it doesn't really piss me off because the characters are genuinely black and working through that as best as they can. Can't expect every movie to portray its most gentle, law abiding, productive, tax paying viewers in a great light. It is what it is. What pisses me off is raceswapping. Snape is not black, not watching it. Helen of Troy was not black, not watching. Middle Earth is not full of black people, not watching it. Targaryens and even Blackfyres were not black, not watching it. Ford Prefect was not black, but I still watched that shit. Ariel is not black, not watching it. Snow White is not black, not watching it. Mary Jane is not blexican, not watching it. The Wicked Witch can be black, I still won't watch it. April from TMNT is not black, not watching it. Velma is not black, not watching it. Johnny Storm is not black, so "miss me with that". Sarah from Last of Us is not black, not watching it. Annette is not black, and I don't give a shit, but I'm also not watching it. I'm sure I could think of more.

Black people actually exist. They are not just differently colored white people. Blacks in America exist in a state of diaspora. Shoehorning them into white culture is an aggressive act, not just toward white people, but toward black people, too. They frame it as empowerment but that is like saying my hammer is empowered when I swing it. Really, I am just smashing the hammer in its face over and over, and denting whatever it hits.
