I went to see Superbad on a Sat afternoon when it was about to leave the theaters. My first time seeing a bar at AMC, so I was drinking and had the entire theater to myself. And I was laughing my ass off like a boomer retard (OP is right).

About a quarter way in, a young girl came in and sat a couple rows away from me. 5-10 mins later she left. And then came back in with one of the girly drinks they serve and this time sat right fuckin next to me chatting away. She was hot. And obviously too young to be drinking.

She admitted as much, saying she got free drinks from the bartender (based) and that she hung out at the theater on the wknds (weird).

This is the part where I lie and say she gave me a bj, but my old faggot ass was too into the movie and being a 30 yr old had reservations about making my move on a drunk high schooler.

I even got annoyed because she kept talking during Superbad. Fuck. It pains me to even think about it and deserve any hate /tv/ throws my way.

the music industry adapted and the artists are better off now than they were under the chokehold of the record labels.
if you pissed off the wrong people, your songs would not get played on radio. no radio play generally meant no discovery outside of word of mouth. very few bands ever made it like that, the only one really that did was KISS and that was mostly due to their over the top style and the community that was built around them, the KISS Army who felt personally invested in the success of the band.
in current year all the money in music comes from touring and selling merch. the days of album sales and royalty checks are pretty much over for your average musician who isn't a top .1% earner.
the paychecks from music services like youtube music, spotify, tidal etc are pitiful as well.
mostly this is because you can record pretty high quality shit in a slightly modified shed at this point and publish it yourself for free on youtube/spotify etc. then it's just a matter of networking or getting discovered by relevant people within your genre's scene.

as for winning awards, generally there's going to be some stated critera somewhere for the specific rewards for the current years, to map things on to /television&film/ the whole DEI push from ~2014 on is because the award shows started requiring a certain number of 'non-white' people or 'disabled persons' 'womens struggles storylines' etc. that's why you see so much woke shit these days is award show criteria.
but to bring it back to billie specifically, girls really love a tomboy who doesn't really care about her looks and she isn't insecure about being overweight, she's seen as a boss bitch, lizzo would have been a prime example of this before she got canceled or whatever.
