It’s actually insane how much this movie ripped off Astro Boy
>>217808924Haven't seen Astro Boy, but this is a 10/10.
Teddy forever.
>>217810908Teddy is the real hero.
>>217810908>>217810921They'll never make them because it takes everything a sex bot robot butler would need and we are not allowed to have those
>>217808924hollyjew has ripped off japanese movies and animation pretty consistently
David can't fly.
>>217809308>>217808924Kubrick had this on the backburner for like 20 years but dieded before getting it off the ground so Spielberg turned it into his typical family drama movie
>>217808924seeing this movie is when i realized spielberg is a hack
As an AI Concept film it has aged well.
>>217811023Japanese cinema and animation literally exist because of disney
Ok but what about the aliens at the end tho>actually they're evolved robots Come the fuck on
>>217811361The AIs are going to look back on us the same way we look at fossil skeletons on the plains of Africa
>>217811385As long as I get to fuck several before then, I'm fine with that.
>>217808924lol i just rewatched this on tubi the other dayI saw it in theaters and thought it was shitupon rewatching it... it's not terrible, but it is way too longunintentionally funny in bits, especially in the beginning when the kid is being creepythe mom is hotoverall worth a watch, it has its moments, some interesting ideas, the end is garbage, 6/10
>>217808924that's all right since Astro Boy ripped off The Adventures of Pinocchio
>>217811507>the end is garbagethe ending is the only interesting part
>>217810972>20 pounds of animatronic pussy and ass
>>217808924There are some pretty direct verbal references to Astro Boy and Japanese robot stuff in this movie, yea. And some big plot homages. With that in mind, and some of his comments on post-2001: A Space Odyssey sci-fi, I think you can tell Kubrick wanted to make a much lighter movie with A.I. but his autism wouldn't let him.
>>217811361>Come the fuck onDid you miss the entire point of the movie that was hammered into your brain every few minutes?
>>217813851what was the point of the movie?
