Just finished House for the First time. What did I think of It?

>>217809764This is a weird show as it has its ups and downs mid season sometimes. First 3 seasons are pretty damn good with the lows being how slow the show gets when it's House and Stacy moments. Tritter being "House but if he was a cop" was a pretty cool idea for a 'villain' too. Season 4 is when House begins to become totally flanderized into "Jerk genius addict who does and says ridiculously wild things almost always" which sucks, but you still get some good shit from the season like 13's whole character, watching Foreman act like House in a different hospital and get fired immediately, the amazing 2 part finale. And it's just like this for the rest of the show. Most of the episodes entirely ignore the patient plot line to focus on House shenanigans but occasionally you have some really good episodes or short lived character arcs that keep you engaged. This is all the way even up to season 7 and 8 which are easily the worst seasons.

After the whole Covid thing you realized it's a lot of propaganda shoved into that show but it was entertaining. Hugh Laurie is a good actor.

The show has moments of genuine brilliance here and there and even when it's "bad" it manages to still be entertaining either thanks to the actors' performances or just due to HOW wacky they're willing to let House's world become when they stop giving a shit. That makes it entertaining through and through which is really the best you can hope for from a sometimes episodic, sometimes arc-driven show that lasted eight seasons.
