Did you guys like it? I liked it. Not great, but very workmanlike and acceptable. A few parts were definitely amusing. The pro-natalist, pro-family bias was welcome. A surprisingly good film, if only Marvel could crank em out like this and maybe it wouldn't be a failing brand.
>>217823303This movie perpetuated the recent trends of popularizing natural philosophy and classical mechanics. They get the specific quote wrong: Archimedes said with a lever and a fulcrum on which to place it he could move the Earth. I don't know if the "place to stand" ever figured into that quote. But I guess they didn't want to confuse retard Americans.
Everything about it was just aggressively bland and dull. Galactus and the surfer were cool but they even failed to make her look better than a movie that came out over a decade ago. The worst part being their world had a pretty interesting look that will never be elaborated on since there just going to shove them into the ugly contemporary mcu world.
>>217823562Fair criticism. The surfer did not look great, but there's only so much you can do with a silver guy. I had no idea this was Julia Garner, they must have pitch shifted her voice or something because it sounds nothing like her.Another movie set in this futuristic-60s era would be cool. Unfortunately you're probably right about the trajectory. What movie did they cameo in? I saw it recently but am still blanking.
>>217823303I thought the characters and setpieces were good, but the writing was really weak. Also you could really tell a lot was lost from this movie in editing.I think it was mogged by Thunderbolts and Superman.
>>217823705Superman was better, but this was the best Marvel movie in years. Years. I was shocked by how good it was, honestly. That's how low they've set the bar for themselves.
>>217823303peaked in the middle and was terribly mediocre. Neat stuff, but not neat enough.
It was refreshing to see a F4 movie that wasn't another origin story.
>>217823303The cast just sucks, every one of them is miscast
>>217823303>Rape and murder that fucking cunt, Johnny! What did she mean by this?
It was really fucking bad. Like an excuse to just cameo Dr. Doom because you know the FF will have nothing to do with the AVENGERS film.
>>217823303The casting of Johnny Storm is worse than black Johnny Storm lmao
>>217824325The guy is a good actor but blue contacts and bleached hair is so fucking garbage. I'm sick of it.
>>217823303It was dull shit. Horrible build-up to Galactus and entirely anti-climactic. Characters were terribly casted and written in such a way that evoked zero investment from the audience into them. I didn't give one shit about a single person in this movie. I was just rooting for it to end so I could move on to watch something actually entertaining.
>>217823303>The pro-natalist, pro-family biasWasn't this Thor 4 tho with the adopted family thing or is that too woke?Your brain on /pol/. It was pretty much not good. Like the other anon said, it was dull. Galactus was boring and his size wasn't consistent. Why they thought switching the baby out when he already scanned their ship and found it in the womb was super dumb. The whole birth scene was dumb. The "JOHNNEY DONT OVER USE YOUR GAYME-ON IN SPACE, YOU'LL BURN YOUR O2!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE AREN'T USING A THROW AWAY LINE ABOUT YOUR SUIT HAVING MORE OXYGEN THAN THE OTHERS? LOL" was dumb, for the smurtest man around. Moving the planet to a new solar system was dumb, it not leading to the obvious jump to the 'real' universe was fine but also underwhelming. Oh the silver surfer can jet around the planet in a few seconds but was too slow for the black hole thing, but their ship wasn't, dumb. Little robots were enjoyable, thing being annoyed by clobbering time felt dated. So theyre not doing kang maybe galact instead but we're warping him X years away like he won't have the capacity to get to them in a few movies? The BBEG can just get kicked into a warp hole away, that's the new threat? Nah it was bad over all, and I wanted to like it. Pedro was okay, Sue was okayish, and everyone else was forgettable. I like Garner but silver surfer is such a replaceable character it didn't matter. Doom teaser was weak, not interested in child "actors"
>>217823303It was meh/10.
>>217823737Thunderbolts mogged Superman and Fantastic Four.
>>217823303>Ugly, old ass skeletor as Susan who doesn’t even use her husbands last name which she’s done since 1965 >mehican 50 year old reed>female silver surfer because “I-i-i-it happened in the comics CHUD” I will never watch this piece of shit
>>217825102I thought Vanessa Kirby was very attractive in this. I mean, she is an sexy lady even if she's older. MILF.
>>217825589She looks fucking awful dude. Even in that picture her skin is awful her lack of any chin or jaw structure is appalling and her hair isnt even the right color of the blonde. Literally any blonde American actress would have been better. Bishop from NCIS looks younger and more suited. And no I don’t care about perceived “acting ability” for an MCU flick. Frankly I don’t think Kirby is a good actress anyway.

>>217823472>Archimedes said with a lever and a fulcrum on which to place it he could move the EarthIf we're going to be pedantic then I DIDN'T REALISE ARCHIMEDES SPOKE ENGLISH, BUDDY
>>217825629>the right color of the blonde????
>>217825658I don’t know why this needs to be explained to you. Her hair is platinum blonde. Sue is a yellow blonde. Are you an Indian or a retard?
>I don’t know why this needs to be explained to you. Her hair is platinum blonde. Sue is a yellow blonde. Are you an Indian or a retard?literally who gives a fuck what kind of blonde it is unless you're a hardcore comics fan
>>217825629you sound like a virgin.
>>217825797>get BTFO asking about hair color cause youre an Indian shill>samefag to try a different tact
>>217825651??it's literally how levers work, this isn't even a translation thing (thought undoubtedly Archimedes left writings, probably in Greek, that have been translated). a lever is useless without a fulcrum. the two are essential to make the lever do useful work.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leverthis will be too complicated for brainlets who think "hue hue guy from antiquities didn't speak English" is some kind of own. please stop breathing.
>>217823654A rocket with the 4 logo appeared at the end of Thunderbolts
>>217825818>le indian>le samefagyou are so predictable it honestly hurts to share a planet with you. i demand you end your life.
>>217824325grim we have arrived at the point where anons actively pine for niggers to take white roles.
>>217826146
>>217825951Grab your passport and come kill me patel
>>217823303It was fine but the entire movie felt like one big montage.
>>217823303This in a nutshell.
>>217823472Mr. Fantastic would not be quoting something so basic. It's smart people written by dumb people again.
>>217823303Marvel should have bit the bullet and delayed it to the end of the year to fix the pacing and the CG. It seemed like Marvel was desperate to have a movie out to compete with Superman to show they were still top dawg but instead they put out something that showcased all their recent shortcomings and sunk a franchise that could’ve helped them get out of their quagmire
>>217823303there wasn't nearly enough action for a superhero movie, just whining about a baby thunderbolts was way better because it didn't try to be anything more than a fun little action movie
>>217823303Ben basically being a giant pussy ruined it for me. He had more estrogen in him then Sue did. And his banter with Johnny was pretty lame. I honestly think Sue was the only character done right. The others were just mid.
>>217825589She owes me 2 hours and 30 minutes of sex for sitting through this shit twice.
>>217826469it's the contrast. the biggest most indestructible member is also tender and sweet. i think it worked, i'm not a comics devotee so i don't care if the characterization is not perfect.they don't make these movies for comics fans, that make them for general audiences.
gud moobie
>>217823303I watched it, went "Eh, it's pretty good. It has heart." Then I realized that's the issue with Marvel movies, that's the level they mostly hit. There were like 5 things out of 30 that were peak and the rest is "Meh, pretty good. Don't have to see it again."
>>217823303It has atrocious pacing, peaks almost exactly in the middle and never recovers energy, and most importantly, the villains are paper-thin characters you feel nothing towards.
I fucking hated this fucking casting
>>217828071i really don't see what the problem is. besides Pedro i have barely heard of these people or seen them in anything. Vanessa Kirby rings a bell but the other two? no idea. it's exactly what I want in casting: perfect chameleons.
