I don't understand how people can like Tarantino's movies once they see what he looks and sounds like. Like it's painfully obvious that he's just an autistic dweeb who likes to fantasize about what it'd be like to be a tough guy who can do whatever he wants and isn't scared of anything. Normally I agree, but it's really hard in Tarantino's case because once you see behind the curtain all of his films become very obvious and transparent as power fantasies of a guy who is perpetually stuck mentally as a 14 year-old. Any sense that there might be something deeper or artistically meaningful going on is lost.

I just figure he makes movies similar to the shit he enjoyed watching (B and grindhouse and martial arts) but after this realization, I also realized that those movies he was paying tribute to were better than his to begin with.
