Fallout 3 has one big benefit.
It's the best of the NuFallout games in actually capturing the ATMOSPHERE of the first 2 fallout games.
The art guy they had working on it (who died) really did a great job of recreating all the gothic, art deco stuff. The only shit thing about the art was the Matrix Green filter.
Everything else about Fallout 3 is nonsensical and basically garbage. It doesn't play great, the plot makes no sense, the quests make no sense, shit like little lamplight make no sense, some characters are clearly pre-war (Tenpenny, the scottish guy in the bomb town, the navy scientists) while it's set 200 years later, nothing has been looted or rebuilt etc.
New Vegas is the one that really brought it "IT'S JUST THE 1950s" where that wasn't the original games at all which actually played more on a mashup of 1920s-30s and 1980s aesthetics.

Fallout 3 is great.
Fallout NV is better in the details, but lacks the filled in world of 3 due to budgetary constraints.
Fallout 1 & 2 are probably the greatest, but I will never know because I can't get beyond the opening sequence and the interface is very tedious, which I guess makes me a bad person and stupid and stuff.
Fallout 4 is I barely played it.
Fallout 76 is I never played it.
The Fallout show is a solid 7 out of 10. I especially like the goofy vibe Johnny Pemberton brings as Thaddeus.
