I would even argue that he was actually never interested in comedy and instead it was forced upon him by the fact that he's a fat kid who makes himself a clown to compensate for his appearance. When you are like that your whole childhood it will inevitably cause alteration of your personality. When he lost weight, it's like he now has to reinvent his whole personality all over again. You’re comparing roidtrannies with people who spent their younger years (in the 1930s) eating whole foods, walking a lot, playing sports, not staring at screens and not being hooked to big pharma drugs and big ag goyslop.Exercise and eating well is the best way to hedge your bets for a long and more importantly happy life. I would hate to live a long time as an obese landwhale. You can exercise in moderation to not take roids or do ultra marathons (which I agree aren’t good for your health).
>>217902113>>217902154You do you, but you'll start to notice at 40+ a HUGE difference between people who work out and people who don't. Those who don't exercise age a lot faster and harder and tend to suffer from more physical ailments as they get older. And at 70+ you'll see an even wider gap between people who can still travel and hike and get around vs people who need to use a walker or wheelchair. You can always find outlier evidence of those who exercise and die early and those who don't but live long, but we're examining overall trends here. Overtraining is not good. Marathons are not healthy (the first guy who ran one fucking died immediately after). Some people die because they overdo it. Professional athletes train for peak performance, not longevity. But most people aren't training like Olympians. Regularly getting moderate exercise is good for you. But feel free to not believe me and see how that works out. I'm not going to stop you.
>>217895251Fat people are ugly
>>217900883That's a whole lotta chungus
>>217902321perfect intersection of laziness, belief that fit people just got genetically lucky, and that taking care of herself would somehow be giving in to the patriarchy. The "Health at Every Size" (HAES) movement didn't do anything to help either. It went from being a movement that encouraged people that they deserved to care about their bodies no matter what shape they were in and to love themselves by eating well and exercising to suddenly people thinking it meant that they were already perfectly healthy no matter what size they were and that treating yourself to an entire birthday cake (teehee) in one sitting was perfectly fine because bloodwork apparently didn't show anything immediately concerning. And eating less than you want to is an obvious sign of an eating disorder, so you should eat whatever you want whenever you want. Funny thing is a lot of those fatfluencers are dead now.
>>217902330Found the self-pitying unpleasant anon. It's not up to me to convince you that you're the architect of your own misery. You're free to continue believing whatever you want.
>>217902622This guy gets it.I’m 40 and I observe old people to see what works and what doesn’t in terms of aging well. Without a doubt you can see a big difference between people who take care of themselves (exercise, eat well, are self-reflective and aware) and those who do not. Yes there is always the chance that you’ll get hit by a car or cancer or whatever but that doesn’t negate the fact that living well increases your longevity and number of good quality years.I really notice a correlation between socioeconomic status and lifestyle. People who are educated and wealthier tend to make better choices these days because they can’t deny the percentage in exercise and a good diet. Dumb and/or poor people tend to live more on autopilot and tell themselves there is nothing they can do and leave it to fate.Exercise and a good diet isn’t even a sacrifice. I go to the gym three days a week and really push myself for 75 minutes or so. I avoid processed foods and do not eat refined sugar and practice portion control. It is just a reflex now but even so in the beginning it wasn’t difficult I just had to become more mindful. Even if I don’t live longer it isn’t wasted time or effort because I feel better, l am stronger and I look better. Professionally it makes sense too because people treat you differently when you are in good shape and take care of yourself; it also signals that you have your priorities in order and have discipline. Literally zero downsides to treating your body like a temple and being mindful.

>>217902563>>217902622We're pretty much in agreement. I hike regularly and sometimes climb and feel that is sufficient. Gyms are a scam, any heavy weight training or intense cardio is going to put undue physiological stress on your body that simply isn't worth it. I don't dispute the importance of diet and lifestyle, it's gym/fitness freak culture that I think is a complete meme.
>>217902862I'd believe that was the case if she ever showed any capability to be remorseful for anything ever in the past.
>>217902918yes you're right. It IS cuter when a cute woman does it instead of a fat man, but also it's more excusable when you're carrying more than one fucking cup of coffee.
>>217903407I don’t agree about weight training. Again, there is moderation and you can lift weights without being a powerlifter or destroy your body as a crossfitter. We live in modern times and most people have sedentary jobs. Emulating natural physical activity via weight lifting is good otherwise you aren’t sufficiently challenging your muscles with normal daily activity. Again it doesn’t mean you have to subscribe to “gym culture” it can just mean having a squat rack and bench press or even doing calisthenics. Our bodies evolved to move and we don’t move enough.
>>217903164Join a gym and download a workout plan. There are tons of free ones out there. (Muscleandstrength.com has a bunch along with videos showing you how to do each exercise. Just ignore all the products they try to sell you). Start with weight training. Keep track of how much you're lifting per exercise and how many sets/reps so you can track your progress. Actually rest on rest days (don't overdo it). Make sure to focus on form over weight - a lot of guys like to try to lift more than they can because they want to be the guy holding a bunch of weight, but it just looks stupid. It's more important to get the posture, form, and movement correct so you actually work on the muscle you're targeting. Do that for a couple months and once you build up some strength, you can start to introduce light cardio on a couple of your off days. You should have 1-2 days where you don't exercise at all to give yourself the opportunity to recuperate. Meanwhile, get a calorie tracking app and track your macros. There are free versions of those too. MyNetDiary is free. You can get more metrics by paying their subscription, but you don't need it. Focus on protein. 1g of protein per lb of target weight is a good starting point. Adjust your fat and carb macros so that you're running at a calorie deficit. You can push and pull the balance of your fat/carbs to your tastes. Find that meals aren't as satisfying? Maybe up the fat and lower the carbs. Want to stay full longer? Up the carbs and lower your fats. You'll want to actually weigh out food you're eating with a scale so you can get accurate measurements. It's crazy how you can get a diet on track just by being cognizant of portions. The nice thing about doing your diet this way is you don't actually have to cut out anything (but you do need to watch portions and having calorically dense foods may mean you're not able to eat as much of other stuff later on so balance is key).
>>217903164I honest to god can’t understand how people like you would rather be dependent on meds instead of just exercising and not eating as much.
>>217903640Veggies are a great way to bulk out meals too without disrupting your macros or adding too many calories. I like roasted zucchini. Just chop it into some coins, brush with a little oil, toss in the oven and roast until they start to brown. Pull them out and sprinkle a little sea salt - amazing. They end up tasting buttery and they add a nice juiciness to meals. You got this. You just need to decide to start. If you miss a day at the gym, it's not the end of the world. Just pick back up on your next day. There will be slip ups, but the important thing is to keep going instead of viewing it as an irrecoverable setback. Five years from now you'll wish you had started five years ago, so just get going. Also, some quick gym etiquette - put your shit away when you're done using it and wipe down machines before and after use. Before for you, after for the next person. Time your rests between sets so you don't hog something other people are waiting for. If someone looks like they're waiting for awhile, it's polite to offer to let them work in so they do a set while you're resting.
>>217895113>>217901245jfc, he's turning into this guy
>>217903164Might as well give up. Once you’re over 40 the damage is done, you got like 2-4 years tops left nobody who fat they whole life lives longer than mid 40s. Ever see a fat person over 50?
>>217903852Chris Christie somehow still alive at 63 (just saw him on Bill Maher last week and he’s fatter than ever)
>>217903407you're making assumptions about what I mean when I say exercise and weight training. You can lift and not push to become a powerlifter just as you can hike and climb without attempting Mt. Everest. Doing cardio doesn't mean you're working until your heart bursts. Everything exists on a spectrum. The fact that when I say exercise you think about people killing themselves to be a bodybuilder says more about your bias than anything I actually said. If you're hiking and climbing, then you're getting exercise which is agreement with my statement. That said, if you did like 1 month of moderate weight training, you'd undoubtedly notice a difference while hiking and climbing.

>>217903578>it doesn’t mean you have to subscribe to “gym culture”I had a lot of hangups about the gym before I started going and was largely hesitant because I hated idea of the culture, but once I finally started I realized that it was mostly in my head. In my subjective experience, most people just want to do their shit and go home. It's not as intimidating as they make it seem in pop culture. However people get exercise is good. I don't think everyone has to go to a gym. It's good for me since it forces me to get out of the house (I work from home) and makes me adhere to a schedule since my gym isn't open 24 hours. I'm just saying as a person who used to be 100% anti-gym but now go 6 days a week, it may not be what a lot of people think it is.
>>217903686NTA and while I agree with you, I think people like the idea of a magic pill/injection. It's far easier than making lifestyle changes.

>>217904015>I know all the judgey looks them fit bros give us fat brosThere are always dicks everywhere, but I (and most people I know) secretly cheer when someone out of shape decides to go to the gym. You're taking control of your life and deciding to make a positive change which is awesome. Just keep going. If you're not sure about something, it's also okay to ask someone. Most people are glad to help. Final pointer re: form - watch videos ahead of time to see what you're supposed to focus on. Often times minor adjustments make a huge difference between what muscle groups you're activating so while it may look like you're doing the same thing, you might not be isolating the intended muscle groups. Don't rely on momentum. Doing things slowly and under control is harder, so take on less weight but do it right and you'll see faster results. Make sure movements are complete and not half way. Also, muscles only understand tension. Don't do a certain weight just because you know you need to get through all your sets with it. If you can lift heavier for your initial sets go for it, and reduce for later sets if you need to. You got this. Next February you're going to look back and be really happy that you did this for yourself.
>>217903933The whole thing was a grift. He lost weight from consuming the adrenochrome of children, not sandwiches.
>>217904015Honestly dude most people don’t care. And I say this as someone with lots of social phobia, intense self esteem problems and so on. I used to be terrified about going to a gym and the few times I tried it were awkward and frantic experiences. Then I worked at a place that had a gym and after I left I joined a gym. Knowing a bit about what I was doing and having established programs helped with my confidence. But the truth is no one is watching you or maybe there could be a few but the most you’ll encounter is catching their glance. Most people will be genuinely supportive and enthusiastic to help especially if you are serious about it and not just a New Year’s Resolution wash out. If you join a Planet Fitness type place it’s basically created for people in your situation. We walk into a room thinking everyone is watching and judging us but the truth is most people are thinking the same thing and more concerned with themselves than everyone else. And consider what the worst thing would be: someone makes a joke at your expense? Snickers? You can handle that. And I bet the probability of any of that happening is close to zero especially if you go to a Planet Fitness or other gym catering to the out of shape/old/causal crowds.Like anon said, start now and wish you started five years ago or start in five years and wish you started today. Procrastination, late night best intentions, planning and so on are your worst enemy same with all the thought experience about what could go wrong. Just go. Make it easy on yourself and get a personal trainer to start with or just follow Starting Strength (ignoring all the nutrition advice) for an easy prescriptive beginner program.Don’t overthink it and don’t say “yeah I’ll start next week… next month… summer…”
