After rewatching a ton of hotd/got clips I’m really frustrated with how the blacks handled the whole treason situation. The greens realistically don’t stand a chance and are solely cowering behind Vhagar who couldn’t 1v2 the other dragons anyway. Rhaenyra/Daemon entertaining the greens ploy and placing them on equal level really hurt her. Daemon was right to want to take immediate action but unfortunately calmed down. Realistically there’s no contest.That being said, while I hate Alicent and Otto, I do find Aegon to conveniently be a more righteous ruler than Rhaenyra. The throne and its duties appear to casually fit him. Also Rhaenyra never took her claim seriously until Vizzy’s death.Furthermore while many would say the plot bends over backwards to have the greens succeed one could also say Vizzy stopped caring about the succession in general. In his final days when everybody was together he never actually reiterated his support for Rhaenyra’s claim to provide a smooth transition.
